Sandow draws his sword and charges forward. "Golem! Rend them limb from limb!"

*Throws a battle chicken at them, if possible*

It is a WoW joke in fact.  And great, Hastur found the sword, now we can melt that puppy down for the extra forged iron so we can get some fittings once everyone gets back so we can keep making furniture.

The  kobolds are woefully prepared, even for their kind. Their leader seems to be the one wearing an extremely large wooden hat covered in leaves. Upon spotting numerous charging dwarves as well as a chicken and golem, the whole group panics. Those already on top or over the wall flee into the darkness, leader included. The five on the camp-side are left without anyone to pull them up, and draw their primitive weapons. It's not much of a battle.

... FUUUUUUUUU.  Now we're going to need to make another shovel.  Ermmm, Burn all the Wooden Hatchets into Coal, Transform Rags into Soft Fittings and Butcher Corpses.  I suppose I'm probably just hunting now with my schedule anyhow.

"think before you destroy it all. Everything has value, even these stinking corpses. I have trained one of the whelps in tracking...so I say we follow the filthy creatures. And make them regret ever being born."

*sandow flicks a bit of loose gore at his battle bird*

EDIT: can i fit these stone clubs to my belt? would they be good for throwing?

Sure, but it would be like throwing rocks with convenient handles attached.

Chase kobolds y/n?

Most of the camp is well roused into pursuing the kobolds, though a few decide to stay back just in case.

Tracking proves unnecessary, as tracks are clearly visible in the snow in the cold light of the moon. They head east along the cliffside. The pursuers grab whatever weapons are available, and chase after them. Normally the kobolds would be long gone, but the weight of the loot that they refuse to give up slows them considerably.

A section of cliff with a considerable amount of large boulders at the base proves to be their hiding spot. On approach, a few bone and wood arrows streak out of the pitch black shadows, most likely a warning shot. There's no telling how many kobolds are waiting in there, and the only way to it is across the exposed open ground.

Worst of all, the golem can't just be ordered to charge in and destroy them all, it would need somebody with it to direct it.

Lead the Charge, Shield over head to protect myself with the Golem following behind me.  As soon as I'm in range, jump forward swinging my sword into the first kobold I see.  Then unleash a might battle cry to demoralize the other kobolds.

While the buckler does protect your head, the rest of your body is not so lucky. A short way into your charge a well-aimed barrage of splintery arrows arc out of the shadows. You receive piercing wounds to your left-upper leg, right-upper leg, lower body (2), upper body and right-upper arm.

Though you are tough, the majority of your body is in wracking pain and the wood-flesh ratio is not at all favourable.

You manage to fall on your side, so at least you did one thing right.

The golem stands behind you, a few arrows bouncing off it before the kobolds give up on it.

Consciousness... fading...

Shoot, I thought those crummy wooden arrows would have no effect since I'm wearing leather armor.  That didn't work out like I thought it would.  Note to rest of the group -5 Wooden Arrows beat +-0 Leather Armor.

"Golem, get me back to the fortress, quick"

Also, Fuzzy, you better set up that surgery right quick.

You expected arrows fired from a bow to not be able to puncture more than a few millimeters of animal hide?
