So, what's the left-behind people doing while all this is going down? It could be a long wait.

After a few hours of nothing happening, the group is in the middle of a card game when the crystal flares and the portal reopens. The two lost Dwarves reappear, carrying the blackened corpse of the creature. The portal closes immediately, and the crystal dims again. Before anything can be said or done, Norrec shield-bashes the crystal into pieces and scoops them into a backpack for Litast.

The creatures corpse further degrades, crumbling into ashes and dust.

We have returned from hell, killed an ant creature with relative ease, destroyed the magical crystals, and now I present them to Litast, for safe keeping or whatever purposes she sees fit to use them for, requesting only that the story be engraved in the fortress common room so in case such a thing is encountered again, others will know how to deal with the situation.

I grab a free vial and fill it with the creatures ashes

Well the crystal would help in experiments... I also need paper for writing down my results and thoughts so you guys can read them.

EDIT: Basically I am reasearching demons. I wont be doing anything rash. Just looking at existing data and comparing it with the data I collected. It may explain some of the demons tactics and ways of getting into this world. Hey, who knows I may get a reward for such info.
