Down the bottom, but it's dark and cramped and may or may not be dangerous due to unknown magical effects.

Hmmm, well are there any little places to hide inside the cave? If not, camping near the entrance seems good. We can have two night shifts posted just inside the entrance and they can wake the rest of the group up should the need arise.

The group sets up just outside the entrance, spreading out the bedrolls that they remembered to bring, being intelligent and thoughtful dwarves. A little campfire is struck up and plump helmets are roasted on sticks, washed down with their favourite drinks.

As night approaches, Athor takes the first watch inside the cave. Fortunately, nothing horrible appears from below. The lantern is lit, as the nights are especially dark.

From his position patrolling the outside, Shem gives a soft cry of alarm. There's nothing visible, but the faint sound of undergrowth and snow being trampled can be heard. Something or someone is approaching from the forest.

Get everyone spread out in defensive positions. Whisper hastily: "Nobody be a hero, we can maximize our damage if we attack from different points."

Should probably wait for most of the characters to post before the next update.

Situation: The entire group is awake and alert, with whatever weapons and equipment they brought. You have a campfire and lantern providing light, and the sky is clear but moonless. It is near midnight.

I'm surprised that nobody felt the need to restrain IronyOwl from touching the crystal [/terrible joke to cover up a mispost.]

Mainly because I wasn't on to touch the crystal.

Anyway, enough dallying, perform the blood ritual necessary to unseal the crystal and release Alk'martokal, Eater of Worlds from his eternal prison. Proceed to have tea with the architect of our destruction.

Or maybe just loudly whisper: "Something's coming from above and below us! What should we do?"
