I'm pretty sure that the "default" one from Shade-o is what we're doing for now.

For the moment, I'd like to use the default plan, it gets us to farming as fast as possible.  Once we get our surface level farms we can all submit plans on how we want to grow (i.e. I'd like to grow upwards, others seem to want to go downwards) and we can all have a nice orderly debate on how to grow the fortress for the future.

Mine gets to farming just as quickly. The only reason I proposed my own is because the current one will be extremely hard to defend until an exterior wall is set up. I look at the current plan and see a whole bunch of people each trying to achieve their own goals without giving any way to defend it other than relying on others to build them a defense.

We are digging now, so now is the time to get all of this sorted out. In either plan, farming is the number one priority.

If everyone but me agrees that the current plan is completely fine and dandy, then I will quietly shut up and let everyone do their own thing.

EDIT: Updated plan for the cistern.

actually, yeah, you're right, yours is better, go ahead, lets do that then.  Hastur, we're using your room for a doorway, deal with not having a room until we're more secure in our position.

Yeah, I agree with CoughDrop's plan - it's a lot more defensible than our current plan.

Can you annotate that map? I can't tell what the symbols and colours mean.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

I've provided legends, or do you mean it's hard to analyze with the current color scheme? I'll also upload the file and program in case anyone wants to do a little editing.

On another glance, the legend is very obvious.

Yeah, but we're talking about delaying that plan so that we have a more defensible entry way.

We don't absolutely need it at the front of the underground entry into the fortress, although a medium-length tunnel before the main part of the fortress would help to funnel our foes in, where our elite troops in steel plate would have a distinct advantage against any foes who manage to get that far.

I intend to construct abundant surface defenses. Once we have a permanent military force, the chances of having our walls breached are minimal.

I plan to patrol with Denrhymed. The chances of enemies reaching your defences are minimal :D
(Though you should probably build them anyway. In case Denrhymed is asleep or something)
(I am joking)

1000 -1030: OMG NORREC'S ALIVE
1030 - 1130: Have a late breakfast of a plump helmet and ale
1130 - 1500: Sleep to avert exhaustion.
1500 - 1600: Eat lunch of pit worm steak and beer
1600 - 2300: Mining, if able.
2300 - 2400: Eat dinner of plump helmet and rum
2400: Sleep now to get sleeping schedule back on track

Hmmm, this seems oddly familiar.  ;)
