No idea.
Maybe they can't decide what to do, and are waiting for other people to fill in the jobs so they have less to choose from?
Or they could be, like, locked out of their houses or something.

OK, idea for everybody that hasn't updated yet.  Start digging.  2nd idea for everybody that hasn't updated yet, go try and find some food in the wilderness.  3rd idea, start constructing a wall.

There, I helped narrow down the choices :D

5th idea, expand the above-ground farmland.

Until the waterfall thaws, we won't have a source of water, we might as well wait before expanding the farmland any further.

Any idea how long we'll have between the water thawing and the start of growing season? We have barely enough time for a single harvest.

I'm just repeating my schedule and throwing some variety in foodwise until I see a need to change it.

We need some traps to capture animals, we should produce those as soon as our forge is up and running, barring any moods of course.  Thankfully I have a sword and anybody who needs to go kill a trapped animal can borrow it and stab the animal until it dies.  We'll also need butchers tools.  We'll need to start butchering and our taming those animals soon though if we're going to make it to fall so digging out that forge space is probably our top priority.

You don't need to build the forge inside, necessarily. Unless it's ventilated you'll be choking on smoke.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

...nuuuuuuuuuuuu.
...fine, we'll have to dig some ventilation and put some grates in there. REQUEST AT LEAST 1 ROCK GRATE.
Will digging ventilation be as difficult as digging full Dwarven hallways and stuff?

Another question- will smoke rise, fall, or just expand? Like, if you wanted a ventilation channel, would you make it on the ceiling, in the floor, or come up with a better plan?

I somehow forgot about hunting, maybe because we don't have a butchery up yet.  Once we do, I have ambusher and marksdwarf (and animal care, in case there's a creepy synergy there heh)

Weird thought- cows need grass, so presumably other animals might also. Cows produce milk, and depending on what we find out there, so could other things.

In theory, then, one of us (preferably with Animal Carer) could lead a herd of milk cows/goats/hoary marmots out to the forest to graze a few times a day, then stuff them back into a secure pen. I have no idea how efficient this would be, especially since we'd also have to spend time turning it into cheese, but it could be worth a shot.

that'd be a waste of time until we get migrants who are good for nothing else.
