By we I mean the sane people in the group who haven't been actively doing stupid things trying to get ourselves and the entire group killed.

By screwed I mean about to die/and or suffer horrible consequences like going insane.

If you run you can probably make it out safely, unless you don't.

Okay, to clarify, Gar is only being heroic as long as he feels he can avoid the black ooze. If it's moving too quickly, he will turn tail and dash. :D

Just to be fair, I'm going to make it official right now, if we get out of this alive, I'm officially calling a vote to have Tholtig hammered until dead.

Well... The closest thing you have is a quarterstaff, and the Heavy Pick would be more of an impaler.

One of those guards has a hammer or mace I'm sure, if not I'll commission one from a human just for the occasion with one of my gold bars.

Now, now, I don't think it's within Dwarven law to give hammerings without the approval of at least a baron. We'll have to make do with diminished booze rations.

Kogan, half-stunned by these developments, allowed himself to be pulled partially out of the chamber. He stops suddenly, rage flaring in his eyes. "Why are we here, if not to gain power? If the god we've released can help destroy the goblins ... Adil knew about this wrongly imprisoned god, and didn't flee." He suddenly charges forward into the shadow.

"Forgotten god, help me annihilate the goblins, I implore you!"

Gar: as more and more people dive into the blackness, Gar ties the rope around his waist, gives it to a dwarf outside of the black ooze, "Well, dammit. Forgotten god, let me get them out safely!" and DIVES IN.

I think that the horrible suffocating blackness definately does not wish for my good health.
So, I run like a kobold on fire.

We came here for loot - not to be sucked into the void. Drop any item that would keep me from running as fast as possible and run - preferably to the exit.

About 1/2 our expedition is certifiably insane.  Let's see, FuzzyZergling, myself, Coughdrop, and Hastur are the only ones who haven't actively tried to kill ourselves, either through stupidity or diving into inky blackness.  . . . Can I get all their stuff if they die?
