First off a little note, this is my first time doing a succession game, so i'll probably screw up when uploading. Also there won't be any pictures for my turn.

Deep in the mountain homes the Nobles were extremely unhappy. They were always unhappy, but this time they were unhappier than usual. For there was a particularily irksome group of dwarves. "They'll be the death of us!" shouted one noble.
" I say we hammer then" shouted another. Yet one noble was cleverer, he banged his fist on the table, then loudly exclaimed: "Why don't we send then into the mountains, the ones full of undead and say we're establishing an outpost. After all, it's not as if they'll survive".
The nobles nodded in agreement, they then got out of their adamantine thrones which menaced with spikes of gold, to plot and plan. The group of dwarves that were troubling them were all well known enough by now. Each of them was a mad scientist, with crazy ideas of defense, monuments, furniture you name it. They all had rather ordinary jobs, yet they were always working on some sort of invention. Their latest one had set several mules on fire and somehow made a turtle stricken with melancholy!
Everyone was generally sick and tired of their crazy !!science!! or their dwarf killing inventions. Their leader soon was kicked out with a wagon and his six equally infuriating companions. To some it would be like a death sentence, yet to this brave band of dwarves it was a triumph of colossal proportions. They would prove everyone wrong, they would go to this "cryptguarded"("Dish mirrors") and create a fortress of !!science!!, with magma!

Okay that was just a short introduction for everything. Basically, you don't play this succession game as ordinary dwarves, you play it as a bunch of insane evil geniuses/mad scientists. You want to make a automatic carp launcher? Go ahead. Do you want to make the main weapon of the military as flaming spears? Try it.

I won't embark yet, since i'll let everyone pick their dwarves. Basically just say what job you want and wha you want your name to be. You might not be dwarfed with the job you want, since I tend to always have a few jobs that I never really change. Although never fear, if you can't be named in the first group then you'll be named in a migrant wave.

 List of players:
1. Me.
2. Dariush.
3. Graebeard.
4. Uggi.
5. Tsarwash
6. Deviled.

There will be a two week time limit, as in if you can't do everything you need to do in two weeks then the next person gets a turn.

A bit of info about Cryptguarded(Dish mirrors now for some reason): It's located on a terrifying mountain (That lacks anything terrifying... for now) bordering a untamed temperate shrubland. The general temperature is warm. There is clay, but nothing else for farming. The stone layers are:Dolomite, Granite, Diorite, Marble, gabbro, schist, granite, slate. We're in contact with everyone and at war with the goblins. I'm using 31.12. There's also a brook called Galenotched. The elevation is quite high.

With out further adieu, strike the earth!

Well the thing is I'm using a already generated world, and have actually started the fortress early, the spring part will be up in a moment.

Dariush and me are the only named dwarves for now, yet if anyone turns up then they can pick from Two miners, a woodcutter, a carpenter/mason and a brewer who's also a stone crafter. Now let's strike the Earth!

1st granite 502, expedition leaders log.

So we've finally arrived at our new home, with its magma and peaceful wildlife. Wait a minute, we've been tricked by the nobles! Why I oughta use my carp launcher on them, if only I remembered where I put it... The only person in our group who has a untraditional name so far is dariush, who is our mechanic/weaponsmith. Being a scientist I like mechanisms, also cows for those haunting moos. I hope we find some to moo at the goblins. Although now I need to focus on my goal, farming (which will lead to science!). The area has a brook and plenty of rock for science, so let's strike the earth! Already there's a cougar, well if we can catch it we can do science, but if not we're doomed. I'll do what all expedition leaders do, ignore it until it interferes with my science! Oh and a mountain goat... wait this doesn't seem like the terrifying mountains we were told about, that mountain goat isn't even trying to look threatening!

5th granite 502.

The miners are mining, also the cougar and mountain goat seemed to do a little dance, so yes we have elven cougars, that won't eat goats... Oh also I want a turtle in a aquarium, for science!

16th granite 502.

The cougar continues to roam, along with his goat friend. The farm is flooding, and rooms are being dug out. This is all good, but where's my turtle!

19th granite 502.

The farm has overflooded a little but we can wait it out, after all it only has water from a murky pool, it's not as if the entire brook is on there. Oh also there's a giant eagle! This requires science!

23rd granite 502.

Perhaps I need to move the booze so the miners don't have to take a long walk to get a drink, nah i'll just work on my farm.

26th granite 502.

The farm will only have plump helmets, also some hoary marmots have shown up. This requires some more science, Dariush is working on the mechanisms for the science.

3rd slate 502.

I've only been here a month and the lack of science is already killing me, hurry up you carpenter, make those beds so we can make some scientific things.

6th slate 502.

It seems my good friend Fath mc miner doesn't like the our brewer who also makes stone crafts.. I suspect the brewer will poison him before long! I must find science to prevent this.

14th slate 502.

I've decided to take a nap next to the farm to show that carpenter!

16th slate 502.

The carpenter responds by also taking a nap... well played.

17th slate 502.

The miners have also fallen asleep, I knew that brewer was plotting something! Well he also fell asleep too but that's not the point!

22nd slate 502.

The science has begun, random cage traps shall stop the marmot menace!

1st Felsite 502.

The science hasn't worked yet, but it will eventually. Also the miners keep finding damp stone over the bedrooms!

14th felsite 502.

The science still fails to work, some people have awkward bedrooms (I don't, haha!) oh and the wild life continues to be goats and monkeys.

1st hematite 502.

The actual name of the fortress is Dishmirror?! WHAT!? Gah, I'm going to pester people about this and my turtle aquariam! Oh also our booze supply is rising, hurray! (Seriously I didn't know that the fortress was called dishmirrors now, when did that happen?)

Okay I'll do the rest soon, since next time we'll probably get migrants and hopefully more fun wildlife.

Graebeard,I'll put you on the list.

Also, won't you post some screenshots? :( I want to know where is my mad scientist alter-ego working!

Oh, sorry I thought you only signed up for a dwarf, silly me. Also I'll try and get some screenshots. Edit: Okay i;ve tried but for some reason using print screen+alt doesn't work...

10th hematite 502.

We've began work on a second farm in order to drain out one of the murky pools, hopefully this will make our damn miners get into shape!

19th hematite 502.

 Migrants! So far we have:
1 leather worker
1 metal smith
1 weapon smith (we already have one but okay!)
a puppy
1 fisherdwarf
a calf
1 bone carver (Look I know it said the fortress was in some terrifying mountains, but we really don't need you)
1 carpenter
1 woodcutter.

Also someone left a copper battle axe in the corner... The person who gets it doesn't have to test any death machines for this year, honest! Maybe they dropped it in laughter at the "fierce" wildlife. Also it seems like none of them are actually dwarven zombies or well disguised elves sent from the nobles. Oh also the bone carver likes giant eagles, well the problem there is THEY HARDLY EVER SHOW UP!

 22nd hematite 502.

I've decided to take up butchery in order to dispose of our donkey. It has no use to us at the moment and I want some meat that isn't horse lungs. Also the standard introduction of  "Grab a mechanism, set up some traps and get ready to do some godamn science!" was given. No one holds any noble skills such as book keeping so the leatherworker is now a book keeper.

 11th malachite 502

Our book keeper should start working soon. Also i've began construction of some defenses, well not me personally I'm busy seeing to my plump helmets and sweet pods.

 25th malachite 502.

Our book keeper won't do anything, at this rate he'll be testing the death lever. Also our plan worked, the plan worked! A groundhog got caught in a random cage trap! Huzzah!

18th galena 502.

Nothing interesting is happening, although I've got some science planned, heheh.

27th galena 502.

I've started a little project, basically it's a little cave in trap to dispose of anything too near the gate, which is up now.

2nd limestone 502.

The season started with a dog giving birth, i imagine it will end with a lot of death.

Tomorrow I'll fail at trading, and get more migrants!

You're on the list and i'll dwarf you soon.

2nd limestone, 502.

A woodcutter finally revealed his real name as Uggi.

4th limestone, 502.

It's a miracle the bookkeeper is doing his job!

5th limestone 502.

GOLD! YEE HAW! For once good things are happening!

16th limestone 502.

The caverns have been breached, soon my plan will begin. Although locally there isn't much fauna that could be used for war, surely underground there's a few nasties that could be useful. For now the caverns will be walled off though.

18th limestone 502.

The second cavern is open, where more fierce creatures lurk... creatures who will be captured with science!

26th limestone 502.

When constructing the pit Uggi seems to have let the groundhog go, the only thing that proved that I could deal with the wildlife. I will punish him when I get around to it.

4th sandstone 502.

Damn lazy dwarves, they're all sleeping. Maybe I should kill one just to teach them a lesson, nah I'll do that if they try to sleep in my room.

6th sandstone 502.

Test subjects, er I mean migrants have arrived.

1 armorer( what's with all the metal workers, we don't have that much metal!)
1 gem setter (Oh whoopity doo)
1 butcher (To be fair you're sort of useful, sort of).
1 woodcrafter (Your job is to annoy the elves).
1 farmer.
1 puppy.
1 mule (Why did you bring a mule?!)
1 bowyer
1 gem cutter (Oh great someone to cut the gems that the gem setter needs)
1 fish cleaner (Well at least our fish won't rot now..)
1 milker (No comment).

12th sandstone 502.

Six days in this place has caused the milker to withdraw from society, oh we're not that bad!

14th sandstone 502.
The milker has claimed a mechanics workshop, this could render Dariush with some competition.

18th sandstone 502.
The milker has sketched piles of cloth and a quarry, if this is a magical cloth rock then I'm inventing a death weapon just for him.

10th timber 502.

Rhesus macaques have stolen two copper battle axes,a pick, two ropes and a cloth!

16th timber 502.

The caravan has arrived, time to trade the caged goats and rhesus macaques!

20th timber 502.

I'm beginning to think that the liason is a little strange, he was watching me sleep. Perhaps some tinkering with the trade depot is needed.

24th timber 502.

Since someone needs to die, i've chosen the gem setter. He is currently locked in his room, he has no friends but should serve as an example that if you're a useless immigrant, you die. Also i've traded for some more food, some spare leather and a few other things.

1st moonstone 502, For now I must go for a while, since I sense treachery!

Sounds like great fun. Can I have a go please. Mechanics, (of course) and masonry or carpentry or smith please. I would love to build a dwarf cannon.
