Flies, everywhere.

I just got a TON of flies, and they continue to plague my farms and cause everything to rot. How do I get rid of these?

Flies don't cause rot, stuff not in barrels or a stockpile causes rot, and stuff not in barrels causes flies.

Build more barrels.

Having this same problem myself. What sort of things cause flies unless stored, though? Meat, presumably? Plants? Plant seeds? Prepared meals? Processed plant products (flour, thread, dye etc.)?

I think it's mostly the kinds of food that can rot, so meat, plants, and prepped meals. I haven't had any fly problems with seeds, nor with thread, though I like setting up storage piles for those things just so the raccoons and monkeys can't get 'em.
