How about a haunted cliff overlooking an evil woodland river?

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.

I will submit the Elemental plane of air from D&D.

By the way, if you can't come to a reasonable consensus I'll just combine/roll for any existing options, with the strength/odds being proportionate to the idea's support.

Also, everyone's updated. Let me know if there's a problem or question.

As long as there is an evil river and a haunted cliff, I'm good.

*Realizes he has no knife*

DAMNIT!

Also: I'm not an assassin, I'm a wetboy! Get it right.

Yes, I had to rage at that. Would be out of character otherwise. "Assassins have targets, because sometimes they miss. Wetboys have deaders, because the rest of their life is merely a script."

Yes, I know I didn't get an accurate quote, but had to be said.

If our embark location does not have a breathable atmosphere then some of us probably don't need to breath, and an ork may just ignore the problem, but most everyone else would have difficulties...

Breathable air will generally come standard, as will gravity, light, and such. I guess you might be able to embark in a cavern or something.

Also breadbocks: You're not a boy, you're a bird. :P

The universal term is wetboy. For example, if you happen to be a girl who is trained as a wetboy, you are still a wetboy, not a wetgirl.

Bah. Wetbird sounds better than wetboy. Neither sound as good as Assassin, but I'll go ahead and change it if you'd like.

Speaking of which, the current votes/suggestions for embark:

Planet Phaaze (hellish world of teal energy and giant monstrosities: breadbocks)
Evil river, haunted cliff (skeletal fish and zombie mountain goats: JacenHanLoveLegos)
Elemental Plane of Air (clusters of floating land amid a void of air: RAM)
Azura's Coast (fairly rocky, rainy islands and peninsulas: Ochita)

Let me know if I've got something wrong.

Planet Phaaze (hellish SENTIENT world of concentrated SENTIENT radioactive mutagenic energy which shoots giant rocks of said concentrated SENTIENT mutagenic energy at other planets and spawns giant monstrosities as defense: breadbocks)
fix'd.

It would not be sentient. It would probably contain giant monstrosities, however.

Not sure if it'd mutate things or not. Leaning towards yes, but only over long periods of time (living in the stuff, in other words).

There is. You can create a character now or wait until it's closer to time to arrive.
