Miners not mining?

All my miners seem to be on strike. I cannot get them to dig or channel or make stairways.

They are not unhappy or injured or otherwise incapacitated. They attend parties just fine, and have no trouble sleeping, but they refuse to dig anything.

?!

Check that they have picks available, and then de-assign and re-assign their digging labor.

Dwarf theRapist seems to have occasional trouble with jobs apparently-but-not-actually getting assigned. Mining, woodcutting, and hunting seem to be the most common offenders. The going theory is that it's something to do with their hidden 'uniform' for work equipment.

Damn it jarin, stop reminding me, i have only seen the word therapist like that since the first time i saw it like that, if that makes sense.

Mining and hunting labors seem to be incompatible - if you have both enabled for a single dwarf (Dwarf Therapist will allow you to do it) then they won't mine.  May not have had to do with your problem but FYI anyhow.
