Some people will take it differently if they've already gotten into the habit of suppressing their anger, yes - it would work best for people that are already violent. For the OP, who obviously posted here instead of impaling "McClueless" (I really hate that meme, and I think that hatred is expressing itself in my writing), your best bet is to just talk to the guy. You know, cutting down a deadstand trunk is really just helping nature recycle. It is productive and healthy physical labor, not wanton violence and aggression. Besides, you see the direct result of your actions when the tree falls and then realize the tree can never be stood back up, and find a family of squirrels in the trunk, or something. And have a moment of reflection about what's really important. AND ALL KINDS OF FEELINGS.

It really depends how you have it.

As absolutely corny as it is the Power Puff Girls really demonstrated it best in the one episode where Bubbles is given magic chalk. At first she vents all her anger in vicious dangerous creatures, which end up beating up her sisters, and she learns to channel her anger into possitive drawings.

The point is that you need to channel your energy into something possitive or at least not destructive.

When you vent anger by hitting things you find that you start to need to hit things to vent your anger.

Unfortunately I am not a good example, I learned to vent anger by becoming sad... so yeah...
