TURN 12b
Transcript from the Presidential records.
President Henry R. Prebius: Gentlemen, are we all here? Good. Let's skip the formalities and skip to the reason I've called you together. *Sigh* I've thought about this for a long time. The Russians have forced our hand. At any moment, a Russian fleet could be making its way to American shores. We must act now to buy us time. Within a few months, this new technology our allies have given us will be used by every American soldier. Generals, you are witnessing history. The second use of nuclear weapons in warfare. My decision is final, my only regrets that we don't have more nukes to throw at them. History will remember us as heroes if, no, once we win.
General Joesph J. Patterson: God bless America. *Stands up and salutes*
Map of the countries targeted by the United States. Radioactive contamination combined with large amounts of fallout caused large parts of Russian, Mongolia and China to become deadly to all life. The rebels in India seized their chance, taking over the country in the confusion that happened after the bombings. Remarkably, most of the Russian soldiers in Kazakhstan survived, and were able to keep order. Soon after the bombings, during the chaos that followed, militia in the Philippines somehow managed to overthrow the defending Russians. Several survivors reported that the militia had gotten their hands on laser guns.

Chapter 13, the assault of Japan.
Halsantium, eager to expand, sent an army to invade Japan... Just before noon (July 11), the army attacked the island of Kyūshū... At first it appeared as if Australian troops had the upper hand, as almost all of the defending American infantry and artillery had been wiped out by nerve gas... in mountainous terrain (tanks) would be almost useless, or so it was thought...
Then the American's luck changed. The Halsantium 1st Paratrooper division was sent to take the city of Tokyo... The night of July 14 was seemingly perfect for their jump, with only a slight breeze coming in from the north... after most of the paratroopers had jumped, the breeze intensified, turning into a gale... they soon found themselves pushed into the city... Due to light pollution concerns, the various advertising signs scattered throughout Tokyo were all linked to a central computer... The switch was thrown, illuminating the paratroopers... (APC) support was nonexistent, as they were affected less by the breeze, and landed too far north to help... The massacre of Tokyo had begun...
Several bombing campaigns had eliminated the rest of Halsantium infantry, and the main storage facility for nerve gas was wiped out along with them... However, the Halsantium generals were not alarmed. They still had their fighters, which were the best in the world. The only better ones at that time were slowly becoming irradiated in the hellhole that was Mongolia... The Australians fought fiercely, eliminating most of the American army... On July 20th, all that was remaining of the defenders was a division of fighter planes... Due to attrition, the Australians lost half of their force... Amazingly, at the end of the day, the Americans had soundly trounced the Halsantium fighter planes, sending them back to their ships... came at a great cost, with most of the American pilots dead or missing...
