Several hours later, a press release is held...

'The movement of troops into Iceland is not an invasion. We need to secure it for our own ends, so that we do not become left in the dust During this war of nations. And to the People of Iceland, I promise you that we Shall evacuate ALL troops, As soon as this terrible war ends.'

You should threaten to kick Sheb for not posting his turn. And combine fanaticism and laser cyborgs. And tell me how much using propaganda against another country costs, however much I like to spend?

More money = better chance of sucess. Minimum of 10,000$.

Also, Sheb, post your turn soon, please?

Also, how does the SONAR buoys works: do I have to pay for them, or are they free? And what are the fortresses' stats?

It costs $10,000 to build SONAR buoys (You need a lot of them.) but they can be deployed and called back as many times as you want. (You need ships though.) SONAR buoys increase the chance to detect submarines by 50%.

What is the base chance if any to detect submarines if you don't have sonar buoys?

0%, unless they're invading a country and have to get past your fleet, in which case the chance increases to 25% (This stacks with SONAR buoys).

TURN 12a
Excerpt from the book "Deadly Times", by Edgar R. Marton.

With the declaration of war between the US and Russia, Egypt turned its eyes westward, to UN territories...

The Egyptians struck first at Somalia, in the early morning of July 6th... Led by Horus's Cruiser, the Egyptian Second Fleet mercilessly bombarded key cities and outposts, before disgorging a landing party... were barely needed, as most of the UN soldiers had been killed in the shelling... Those that survived surrendered... That evening, four division of Egyptian Fanatical Infantry crossed the boarder into Ethiopia... The troops stationed in (Ethiopia) were overwhelmed, and pushed back... Even a unit of armour was powerless, as revealed by a letter from a UN gunner...

"Thank god, I thought to myself. The damn calvary's arrived. I remember the rest of the boys giving a cheer when we saw those GCV-3s round the hill. Some of the boys pleaded with the driver to stop the vehicle so they could watch the carnage. Hell, I'm glad the driver ignored them. The GCV-3s barely started to open fire before on of them blew up. Several of those damn Egyptians were firing from their APC! Can you believe it? The GCV-3s tried to respond, but I could hear their rounds just bounce off the armour. It wasn't long before the GCV-3s had to turn and run with us..."

Map of Egypt's Advance into UN territories.

With the UN forces on their rear defeated, a general advance into Africa could be undertaken... On the 9th of July, Egyptian forces swept through the UN boarder in a two pronged attack... The first (prong) was centred on Tranzania, the second (prong) was based near the Democratic Republic of Congo... The attack was spearheaded by the four most elite infantry division in Egypt at that time... armed with powerful laser weaponry and enough armour to make a tank weep... the attack was unstoppable... The attack was based on one of the biggest fronts in history, with most of the western border being pushed in that one attack...

The UN proved powerless to stop the Egyptians in the initial assault, inflicting a causality rate of 18% despite outnumbering the Egyptians in all the battles they fought, while losing almost all of their defending force... The Egyptian assault soon halted, as the Egyptians paused to rebuild and assert their control on the countries they conquered... They were not finished with the UN, however... The humid morning of July 20th found the Egyptian First Fleet sailing to Spain, for forestall any UN attack through the Mediterranean... The First Fleet dropped two Fanatical Infantry divisions before commencing with their bombardment... The attack, though ultimately successful, proved less easy than the conquering of Somalia... The Infantry divisions were decimated as they attempted to take the beaches, and later had to be amalgamated... A destroyer, Crusher of the Nine Blows, was sunk, when a lucky artillery shell hit an exposed ammo pile, setting off a chain reaction that disabled it...

It should be noted that on July 30th, a covert raid was concluded on Egyptian soil... resulting in the destruction of several half-built ICBMs, and the deaths of several commanding officers... The 1st Infantry Division, or Pharaoh's Bodyguards, was disbanded soon after... Both for its failure to guard the ICBMs and protect the officers... The 1st Infantry Division did neither, as records show that most of the guards for the ICBM facilities and the bodyguards for the commanding officers were killed that night...

You're telling me the Egyptian troops never missed on any of those countries 1/3 of the time?  Even though they were all T1 units and not T2?  Can I steal some of his luck for what I want to do?

...

The UN didn't have any T1 troops defending their territories. Unlike some people, they had to steal their alien technology to reverse-engineer it.

Plus fanatics have the same attack as Light Armour. Their chance to hit was usually slightly above 80%.
