You can rely on commons to go after the nearest player, even if there's others in the way.

Go 2 spaces forward (into and out of the trench) and start whacking at the zeds on the right side

move to 26,22. Fire East and Northwest, then move back to 28,24

Flame 28,20 and 30,20

Move to 29,26.

That should help out the far eastern side a good bit and reduces of many zombies can attack Sheb.

No idea how to save the west.

Runner 3 will get Sheb anyway, so I'll put a round through it. If it's not in my LOS, I'll move up to two units east first.
Edit: Scratch that, I move two east and shoot in front of me to kill one of the rows attacking Kash

Hm, sure.  Reinforcements (sent a PM to Lemon as well).
Just choose your color, and what x coordinate of the bottom row you want to be on.  You'll be on the map this turn, and act next one.

There's about 25 of the fuckers and the three sarge killed were at point blank range - it's got to be zombies or a bunch of really dumb terrorists with knives.

Well, you could shoot the closest one, presumably that would kill it if it were still there but give the sniper a chance to shoot it and then take out the one the sniper misses...

But I am not paying enough attention to be making tactical advice...
