Yeah, I need to deal with the derailers eventually so that this section of the forum isn't useless.

W... will you?

I am sort of split.

On one hand this derailment, of EVERYTHING, has really gotten out of hand (in fact it was one of the reasons why I was against the board being reduced, since the Various Nonsense board was harassed by the same derailment) and many times a topic becomes useless long before the conversation ever really stops. As well there are plenty of people on the board who have devoted part of their time to actively derailing topics as well as others who see nothing wrong with it and while they otherwise wouldn't derail a topic themselves they will join in the instant any phrase of derailment is mentioned.

On the otherhand there are so many people involved, about half the people who go to General Discussion now, and the only real solutions are to either constantly berate people to stay on topic while at the same time closing and reviving topics... OR to bug Toady constantly.

So it is more of a situation where I should just come to the conclusion that the General discussion board cannot really be saved and that I should give up really participating in any worthwhile discussion or musing because ultimately the public has spoken and they arn't actually interested in it. They are interested in Random nonsense and derailment.

Does it really count as derailing if the TP is the one who brought about the new form of conversation, as in this case?

You can derail your own topic yes.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it is indicative of something more present.

Ohh well back to the topic at hand... sort of... I am not sure... Since it has to do with "How I am feeling" as the topic is... but the current topic is just making a lot of cat noises... So...

Meow.
