Butchering remains for forgotten beasts are not meaningful at all because every forgotten beast is different. Besides, there's nothing odd about it - in the two forts I've run, I've killed and butchered dozens of forgotten beasts.

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Slaughtered does not mean tame. Your dwarves will auto-butcher anything that's not sentient.

I was gonna say...how do you tame one of them...arent they all immune to traps?

I believe traps will work on them if they're unconscious (from your military or a nearby cave-in) or caught in a web.

Which is really sad. I bet there isn't a fortress in the world that wouldn't be improved by a toxic monster of some sort.
