Dwarves afraid of Axedwarf
« on: November 02, 2010, 09:04:19 am »

I had an elf merchant go insane so I thought what the hell and I had my military consisting of one axe dwarf hack him up. Now when my haulers go to loot the bounty they get interrupted by my lone axe dwarf. He actually cut one of my haulers in half. I didn't get a notification saying he went berserk or anything. Does anybody have any idea what is going on here.

I'm sure by the time toady gets too old to program, DF will have reached a stage where as it is sentient enough to program itself.
It won't program itself, it'll be too busy taking breaks and attending parties to code.

It sounds like your dwarf has become an enemy of your civilization.  Since he's still a member, anyone who fights back will also be branded an enemy, and so forth.

I recommend starving him or setting up a trap and ordering him into it.  By trap I mean dropping a floor on him or upright spikes (repeatedly triggered via lever).

Yeah, this happened to me once when I somehow killed a dwarven caravan during a goblin seige.
It's known as a loyalty cascade and can totally mess up your day, dood.
