It says here you're the bastard daughter of Tarn Adams and Ray Kurtzweil, who became transgender once... ok, just kidding.
You were born to a multibilllionaire family, and got a full body amputation for your 19th birthday. When commercial uploading became available, you were among the first to get it; 1 of the 14 in all history of mankind to get uploaded without a terminal illness forcing you to.
Event jack omega is the name of the solar superflare predicted with almost certainty to occur in 2049, and will obliterare all multicellular life or computing equipment in the solar system.
You find detiled bluprints of the probe! Jackpot! Detailed 3d model with every function and feture down to microscopic scales, their interrelations, various useful visualizations, simulations for various scenarios, links to further data, etc. just about anything you could care to find out about it's design, functions, performance or structure can be found here or in direct links from here!
You fire up the training simulation for dubblehand-haulr-724 in kineticMind, and enter.
You feel yourself curled up, like some kind of worm or snake. You stir, and the rough texture of your skin slides across itself, a peculiar sensation. Your long body is much more muscular and stiffer than any creature, it wouldn't have been to bad a guess to assume metal covered in leathery rubber, although you know this is not the case.
You clumsily unfurl the 16 sub arms surrounding your single eye, sticking to eachother at first before you manage to controle the gecko-like stickyness in them. A desert landscape, the place on earth this simulation is based of, is revealed, basking in the suns simulated rays. You slowly slither forward... The suns heat on your side, the rough ground under your body, the cool morning air blowing among your arms and across the lens of your eye... it is exhilarating.
You are much longer in comparison to your thickness or the size of your other features than any real snake, making you feel enormous and your tendrils reach expansive despite you being only about 45 cm long. Gravity in the simulation is earth conditions, but feel like much less due to your strength. You lift your other end, and look at it, it reminds you a bit of a solace. When you uncurl the tendrills of THAT end is where it gets a bit more surreal; suddenly you have two heads, identical, looking at each other, at themselves, two directions being forward. You feel a bit of nausea at the sudden change, but it quickly passes.
Enough fooling around, time for training. You reach towards a large rock with one of your heads, spreading it's 16 tendrils wide, embracing it, sucking onto it with the geckolike surfaces on them, and then try to lift. This obviusly just results in your other end going right up in the air and flailing around a bit due to weighing almost nothing. You quickly figure out that what you must do instead is the big rock as a solid foundation to stick out of, and then use the end not attached to that as an 16 fingered arm to lift smaller things, and quickly get the hang of it. This thing really IS easy to use, and fun to!
This is amazing.
After having spent about 20 min subjective time total in the sim, you tear yourself from it and consider your next move.
