Canada has a law protecting children from people abusing them and making pornography of it, and our head judge declared that fictional children are people to.

No serious laws here please.

This is the first step toward allowing fictional characters to vote, own property, and serve in the military.  The mind reels.

As for sensible silly laws, take this one from Los Angles and the reason behind it:

Toads may not be licked.

Reason:
The toad that is referenced in this law secretes a poison that some people were licking to produce an effect like heroin to become "high".

There was a Family Guy episode that was based on this, I think.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Here in Alabama, it is illegal to sit on a garbage can. Also, putting salt on a railroad results in capital punishment.

Not only is it not actually advertising anything, it's just copy/pasting word salads about gold, runescape, oil, yuan, and handbags.  It's like a transporter accident combined all the spambots into one shambling mass of online sales.

From France:

It is forbidden without a cemetery plot to die on the territory of the commune. (Sounds wierd, I know, but Paris has had problems with finding places to actually bury people, thus the Parisan catacombs)

An ashtray is considered to be a deadly weapon. (What kind of ashtray? heh )

You may not pay for a fifty-cent item with only pennies.

It is illegal for clear or non-dark sodas to contain caffeine.
