Ehh ... Your drawing was misleading. The only reasons I ignored the possibility that my shield might fit is because it doesn't fit, and the indentation is a rectangle.

Since the shield is the only thing any of us has that might fit, I now know it to be an indentation rather then a block, and you said that this was one possible way to go ...

I'll throw the shield into the indentation.

It doesn't fit exactly, but I just did a copy-paste into the block, and it does fit in. There's some space left over, but that was in case someone came in later with a bigger square.

I'm surprised that no one in the blind room is entering mortal combat with the creature and forcing everyone else into mortal combat with them. It would kill the monster, and everyone would get treasure. Yay?
