I'll run the turn soon since the others will probably wait for the new path.

I'll go up the ladder and go into the Dark corridor, feeling along the ground for a button or something, if found press it.

"Come on guys, I know you can do it!
"Eat Wizard!"
"AHHHH!"
Black runs forward a bit, taking no notice to the beast.
The other four engage the monster in battle, which with their efforts put together, deal some damage to the creature. It looks a little beat, but it's still moving fast and strong.
In response to the attack, the camo-monster crashes into the ground, causing a loud shake while Black and Orange get crushed.
Black and Orange are now Lightly Wounded.

Maroon goes back into the starting area, waiting for another path to open.
Almost as if his wishes were heard, the section of floor below him falls off due to the shaking to reveal another hallway. The fall hurts him a little, but not much.
Maroon is now Slightly Scratched.

Curious, Maroon investigates further in the hall. He spots a ladder in the middle of the hall, and a flying eyeball at the opposite end. Behind the flyball is another door, but anyone wanting to get through would have to kill the monster first.

"Suckers!"
Cyan, feeling pleased, starts climbing down the hole. After reaching the bottom, he finds the temperature very hot. It may have to do with the bubbling green liquid, but he isn't sure.

I'll engage the beast in mortal combat, then once I eventually slay the beast with my sword of Maroon Glory, I'll continue my trek into the unknown by going through the door.

I said I'd fight it in mortal combat. That insinuates that I fight it until one of us dies. The go through the door bit is for reference once I do slay it.

This will be fine. If someone else joins in the fight though, they'll also have to agree to fight until they/their enemy dies.

If I slay a monster after mortal combat do I get all the loot if I'm the only person fighting, or is it still just "first pick?"

Is that a button next to me?
Am I sealed in here until somebody touches the button again?
