Pressure Plate questions
« on: October 31, 2010, 04:32:32 pm »

Do pressure plates activates if friendly units step on it, or are they like other traps that only work if an enemy steps on it?
Or can you toggle this?

I could not find anything on the wiki talking about it, but it would be helpful to me to have pressure plates that only worked when an enemy stepped on it.

When you build a pressure plate, you can define if it works for citizens.  Default is to only trigger for enemies.  Pressure plates always trigger for enemy units, unless they have [TRAPAVOID].  This cannot be changed once the pressure plate is built.

Baron, pressure plates can be both a boon,or a curse, if used for a defense against enemies. If it is resettable, everytime a enemy sets foot, flipper, blob on it, it will activate again and again. There is a sweet setup for them, in the wiki. In combination with a floodgate, and hatch, once activated its effects will remain, until you disengage it. Its great for fort entrances.

Should you fail to comply, strict !!disciplinary actions!! will be taken. Also, we feel we should remind you that one of the "criminals" on your list is the chief medical dwarf. If he ends up too badly injured to do his job, you will be fired. Out of a magma cannon.
