I was making a new fort, was tabbing through the different modes like neighbors and civs and such when I saw this (Second civ down)

The crewed oil. Ha. Haha. Haahahahaha!
There's also the staff of rising but they're nothing compared to homophones.

Hur hur.

"Staff of Rising".

Engraved on the floor is a well-designed image of a kobold and a carp.  The kobold is making a plaintive gesture.  The carp is laughing.

As opposed to my dwarven female companion, eventually titled Alu Staffdrooped the Strapping Dimples.

Apparently, my char suffers from nervousness around pretty women.

I made a temple and dedicated to Avul, god of minerals and metals. The temple was called "The Church of Earth".

EDIT: Also my mason seems to have a fixation on arachnids, he made me a statue of a brown recluse and 2 statues of bark scorpions, oh, and a statue of two dwarves.

2nd EDIT: Turns out shel likes statues and brown recluses, but detests bark scorpions.

Dwarves love to make art depicting a dwarf and the thing that dwarf hates.  And also a dwarf and the thing that dwarf loves.

I was playing around with world gens and started an embark with the wonderful name "Clobbertown" that has to be my best RNGed fort name to date. I guess I'll go with hammerdwarfs.

My first dwarf to gain a title in Lancedweakened, a female axelord, was dubbed "the Virginal Crow." I just wish this had happened on a glacier.
I don't get it.
I guess because crows don't show up on glacier biomes, so "The Virginal Crow" would be "virginal" by being the first crow on the glacier. Except the crow is a dwarf with a big axe.
Oh. I thought it was some kind of innuendo.

It's a GOT reference.

"Creations Ever Onward" is an example of "The Shore of Cats".

"The Shore of Cats" is a poetic form intended to describe the grief of the hunt.

I found a keep named "The Massive Climax", inhabited by the lady Inspuz Tradedblowing.
Now that is a place I would gladly retire my adventurer.

Apparently my captain of the guard decided that it was a good idea to name the fortress guard the ROUGH SMOOTHNESSES.  The best part about this is that in his description it says that he has "difficulty with words".   :P

There's a deity in my pantheon named "Shorast Boyfruits". I was surprised to learn that his spheres were actually labor, crafts and metals.....though to be fair, "flamboyancy" and "homosexuality" aren't spheres yet.

In a fortress I made in one of the recent versions I had a dwarf make what i think was a mudstone throne called "Faminephrase the Acrid Bowels". It doesn't really sound inviting.

I bring you another book. The name itself is pretty ordinary, but in the context of its contents, perhaps it's just a little ... off.

Quote
Family, My Life
This is a well-crafted giant cave swallow parchment scroll. The rollers are made from claystone.
Written on the item is an essay entitled Family, My Life, authored by Etur Junglemountains. It concerns the value of family. The writing is depressing. Overall, the prose is passable.

"I love my family, my family is my life ... " *sigh*
