Got a migrant dwarf named Mebzuth Floordrunken. I can imagine where he goes and what he does at parties.

...Laying on the floor drunk out of his mind. Probably trying to drink the floor.

According to the raws, Mebzuth means "oar". So his full name in English would be "Oar Floordrunken".

The Rawness of Sourness, a copper hammer
Dousebrain, a bronze mace
Fingertwinkling the Just Brother, a steel war hammer

My neighbour elven civ has a group called The Lobster of Cobras.

I like some of my artefacts:

Dragonpassed - steel greaves. They were not dragon passed, but I imagine they could.

The Godly Mansion - green glass window. I suppose it would be a perfect fitting for a truly godly mansion, though currently I prefer building stinking holes.

Troublestopped - the green glass statue. It can stop a troll, at least for a while, so the name is well deserved.

Dwarves have funny names often, some of my favourites:
A lady named "Handledeath". She's a multiple mother and she is in military.
A guy named "Foggysmith". He is a weaponsmith, and is frequently under influence.
A legendary miner named "Scrapeshield". I don't know if he scrapes shields often, but he can, with his masterwork pick.
A lady named "Crystalbridge". I should make a bridge named after her.
A guy named "Strifecraft". He has no socials skills whatsoever.
A female child named "Glacierdike".
An axedwarf named "Soakedknife". He's a dwarf, so he is soaked all right, but why knife? Maybe it's blood?
A planter named "Gleefulpage". His page is full of gleeful thoughts indeed.
A broker named "Merchantearly". He is always ready to trade before merchants are. I also have a child with the same surname. A career path awaits.
A fighter named "Herospear". He is a hammerdwarf, confusingly.
A marksdwarf named "Standardshield". Despite the name, he has a masterwork steel shield.
A lady named "Singedfloor". I hope it isn't her destiny.
A guy named "Drumtours". He migrated with 17 skills already, absolute record. But I wait for bards update to enable his true calling, i.e. drumming.
A wound dresser named "Allyoiled". Shame the dwarves don't use oil for dressing wounds. But maybe she massages her clients.
A guy named "Cavewebbed". I'm musing on sending him to explore caverns.
A guy named "Fillsacks". He's a bee worker really, but there are no bees on my map. And someone needs to fill these sacks with sand.
A peasant lady named "Moltenwound". She likes brimstone.
A miner named "Steamworks". Why isn't he a mechanic, I wonder?
A master armorsmith named "Simplehatchet". That's why he isn't a master weaponsmith.
A boy named "Romancebridge". I suppose he is one of these guys fitting padlocks to bridges.
And a one year boy named "Paperfists". He won't be a boxing champion, I'm afraid.

Plus I'm always humoured by the name of my fellow human civ. They are named "The Nation of Rock". I'm waiting for a bard update to see what they musicians look like. They civ simbol is highwood, I've heard they make a very good base material for bass guitars.

As for my group, I always name it myself so it's not really random. My group is simply called The Blackguards of Ale (though they prefer vodka), and the site is named The Wave of Water, because it's a beach resort, and it sounds nice in dwarven.

My adventurer's name is Bembul Whiptamed "The Guardian of Gills."
He's only a competent swimmer. As far as I know, he also has no gills.

Perhaps... Maybe he needs to kill a carp and carry its corpse as his "pet."

My latest and last world in 40.24 had the craziest and/or awesomest names for civs:

Goblin: The Disgusting Deceiver
Human: The Weak Confederacies of Grasping. They get kicked around by the aforementioned goblins. Actually, I just opened Legends, and I have to retract that: while they did have a few setbacks at first, they've been consistently kicking ass and taking (dark pit) names for the past 3 years.
Elves:  The Pass of Shadows and The Sweet Leaf.
Corrupted Dwarves (modded in via copy/paste): The Barbarous Menace.
Savage Goblis (ditto): The Lurid Witch.
Forest Elves: The Gulf of Shoving. Incidentally, their civ was stuck on a large island across an evil sea. And we were somehow at war.

[e] Note to self: restart playing 2014, on multiple embarks, and build a bridge to those insane pansies, just for the pleasure of bringing war to them.

The bowels of tainting: Engraving of windows
The glad friends: Engraving of my dwarves and humans fighting. Dat name
The unkempt meat: Engraving of dwarf
The untoward eater: Engraving of three lesser yam plants.

The Heavy Droopiness: Dwarf admiring fisher berries.
Sounds like a ethuanism for blue balls to me.

The Grip of Droopiness: My fort being founded.

Found a sinister volcano named "The Gory Axe", located not far from the dwarf civilization and wedged between the elvish and the goblin territories.

Methinks this makes it prime embark material.

EDIT: Remember that one dwarf I had with the name of "Planklover"? Got a new dwarf named "Praiseboards".
