My female human adventurer, slayer of beasts and lady of untold beauty Blabla Fishaged.

Love those funny names.

But my favourite was when my male adventurer was stalking the woods and got ambushed and a voiced yelled: You will remember the amazing glitters when we are done with you!

During my last wave of migrants a child came with the surname of Cultglowed. Not sure if I should start building a church or sharpen the axes, or perhaps both.

I have a squad named "The Fenced Defenses". I'm tempted to give them just shields and no weapons.

Nuff said.

In my Legends in DFVD, I have:

An FB named Ned.  I keep imaging it as Ned Flanders twisted into an eldritch abomination.  Beware its deadly neighbor-ooney!

An FB named Tad.

a Goblin named Snosub Catmenace.

He was a butcher.

Imagine you're driving a car. Push the gas pedal to the floor. Close your eyes. Remain this way for ten minutes while turning the wheel at whim. This is Dwarf Fortress.
I don't mean to alarm you, but it appears that your Dwarves are all in fact elephants.

My embark group is named "The Tight Dikes"

I know there is a spelling difference but it sounds the same when I told my partner.

She thinks less and less of this game every time I talk about it, haha.

Ya, he tried to play once and didn't worry about security at his entrance since he was too busy making every dwarf room have a table and chair and statue.   ::)

Then the wolves came. He got all pissy cause he hates losing.   I tried to mention DF's motto but he got snappy hehe.   8)

Patience, persistence and yes losing is fun as fuck.

Just genned a 550 year world. Ended in the age of death. Only elf cities and a single resisting human city left (all the dwarves are dead). On topic, the human city still standing is "Womanman" and the name of the civ?  "The pregnant stirred society"

Dwarven Civ: The Guilds of Yelling

I founded a failed fort named Pit of Screams.

Could imagine the elves talking about it...
"Hey, we're going to trade with that new mountainhome."
"Yeah, what's it called?"
"The Pit of Screams."
"That sounds ominous."
"Nah, it was founded by the Guilds of Yelling.  I think they just wanted it to feel more like home."
"Well, with that in mind I'm confident that we won't die at all!"

One of the cool locations I've found (but haven't actually started a fortress on yet) is a volcano named The Rapid Cinders. On a mountain called The Hill of Elevation. The civilization I'm going to choose when I embark there is The Furnaces of Warmth. I love it when names work out so appropriately.

Of course, I also love it when it's hilariously inappropriate, like a brook named The Insensitive Cad, or the civilization The Pointy Confident Sister.

I once got a civilization The Mechanical Mansions. I decided to go with a defense strategy of all-out technological science, and named the place "Gearguarded." The randomly-generated name of the expedition leader? Risen Wheelmesh.

Any time you want to laugh your ass off, just open up any world's "Legends" setting and read off the list of civilization names . . . for a 200-250 year-old world, that's around 200 civilizations.

Engraved on the wall is a finely-designed image  of "Start Your Day With The Book", the honey-badger bone-bound book by Dakost Zulbannoglesh.

...My dwarves engrave the strangest things.
