Friend on IRC had a fortress named "Ballballs".  They decided to make the next one "Ballballs the Round Rounded Ball-Ball of Balls".

The name...combined with the screaming...might equal...oh god no.

I'm not ashamed to admit that my mind went straight to "gutter" thoughts and still sees no other interpretation.

Now I finally get it.  Vice, meaning the construction thing, right?

The tavern is named 'The Charcoal Snacks'. Encouraging.
Dwarves include Risen Famegranite the legendary stonecrafter, Atir Ragblots the bookkeeper, Stukos Murderedpainted, Tosid Kindlingbolts and Sigun Metalshoot the crossbowdwarfs, Ezum Leafylashes and Kir Splatteredtunnel the (dabbling and skilled, respectively) lashers, Ushrir Workedpolished the engraver, Kol Floorodors the butcher and surgeon, Mistem Roarswinds the cook (Tuesdays are rough, apparently), Cilod Righteousdoors the mason (who has indeed made his share of masterwork doors), Fikod Mineowner the miner (I like to think he's the foreman), Muthkat Chuckedroom the farmer (who has been throwing constant tantrums), and Dishmab Bighandle the mason, who has many friends.

I mounted an expedition to steal the legendary artifact "Sewatedquek Pabozreb," which the liaison had whispered was held by foul elves who had occupied a human town.

The raid goes swimmingly. When I get it home, I take a good look at it:

This is a human skull totem.

Totally unadorned.

Worth ten bucks.

Humans literally made some junk out of a spare human head, called it "Thiefbait," and so of course my dumb ass pulls this sneak-raid to steal it from the elves. I even put it on display before I checked its value. This is in the fort with a raw adamantine scepter decorated with raw adamantine rings and crap. THAT'S worth 1/3 of my fort's total value, and it's sitting in a box down in basement 4.

(Totally off the subject: this kind of thing actually works IRL. My old job, the ladders would get "borrowed" all the time, and we'd never have one when we needed it. I wrote "do not steal" on our last ladder and it was still there when I left years later.)

I was almost about to quit my fort, due to a neverending aquifer sapping my will to live.

And then those crazy bastards opened a tavern named The Armored Nuts.

All right. I'll give you a chance to prove it. Let there be screw pumps and fluid engineering. If you can breach that damned thing, I'll decorate that tavern with matching pair of masterwork steel balls.
