I just noticed that my master engraver is so creative that she is "bored by reality".

Hopefully some awesome engravings are forthcoming.

Nevermind, the game just answered my question. Troglydyte attack. The baby didn't survive. The mother is feeling but likely won't escape. Kinda depressing.

What was she doing FEELING the troglodyte?

All Hail Ozud Ozudspamo, Goblin Swordsman, Survivor of the day. Truly should have earned a name...

It did, its like the goblin equivalent of "bond, james bond"
...
Brb, checking the goblin scripts to see what that name tranlsates to.

Edit:
It translates to
Ruthless, Ruthlessdip.
So either, its a very ruthless food item.
Or a very ruthless depression.

It translates to
Ruthless, Ruthlessdip.
So either, its a very ruthless food item.
Or a very ruthless depression.
Or it has to do with the fall, was very ruthless. 5 z levels, Another goblin fell and suffocated just before. His name was Atu Kutsmobaste, Master Thief.

Exerpt from townbrush.txt by Internet Kraken:

"Nobody wants to live in Townbrush, and for good reason. Almost everyone that has come to Townbrush has been eaten, stabbed, crushed, drowned, hacked, incinerated, or beaten to death with an octopre skin backpack. When we're not under siege, we're being attacked by Forgotten Beasts. And when we're not being attacked by Forgotten Beasts, there's probably a zombie whale crushing someone to death in the dining room."

I'm always amused to see a bunch of dwarves scurrying around doing whatever, and in the middle of it all, one poor guy hauling something heavy, tile by tile.

Ah, right, i forgot about the fall, 5zlvls isnt really much... well in dwarf terms, so it really is a dip :D.

The goblin named itself after the pit...

FLEEING. She was fleeing the Troglydyte. I can't remember whether or not she survived.

I always stop and watch wounded dwarves get tended in the hospital.  I check their health screen between treatments to see how it's going.  I always feel relieved when everything gets treated successfully, and the dwarf goes back to work with nothing permanent besides a badass scar.

My current commander has a massive scar on his face.  I love it.  Too bad he also just got several broken ribs and a torn lung, and refused to stay in the hospital any longer than necessary to stop the bleeding. :(

I also like when disabled dwarves are successfully tended long-term instead of wasting away, especially if they were important before and their happiness actually increases after being bed-ridden.

This is an exceptional horse hoof crown.
On the item is a finely-designed image of Rovod Workworker the dwarf and a centaur in carnelian by Momuz Zongim. Rovod Workworker is embracing the centaur.

Rovod, sitting at the bar with a pint of dwarven ale
- I made damned hundreds of damned metal bars. Did someone engraved that? NO.
*sigh*
- I cured those militia after that damned pair of beasts arisen from caverns. Did they noticed that? NO.
*sigh*
- But a single centaur, and what?!

The little things?

When my broker sat in his room with his wife, completely ignoring my request for a broker to trade, for a week or so, until she got called off to another job - and then he went to do his job.

'Twas sweet.

happened to look at a baby as soon as she was born. The description of her age read "She was born today, which makes her very young indeed." :D

I checked the description of a baby that had just that very second been born once. It said he had a double-braided moustache. I was baffled and amused.

An average day is going by at the fort, nothing out of the ordinary. Dwarf Traders were there, and I had purchased everything of value from them via serrated iron discs. My mayor was taking time to talk with the liason in between his daily tasks, when suddenly...

An ambush! Curse them!

I, of course, was not prepared to fight an ambush of any size, and my dwarves were scattered all over the map, sitting ducks for the vile goblins. I quickly ordered them all into the fortress using a burrow, and we huddled inside, as the Trader's guards fought the goblins as best they could, and here's what changed the entire situation from dramatic to hilarious:

The liason was still trying to settle export agreements!

He either had no clue what was going on or he took his job far more seriously then my dwarves take theirs. So I clicked "a" as many times as it took for him to shut up and he bode farewell and then just walked out past the chaotic battle.

I haven't seen him since, but I can only assume he's out there somewhere, comparing notes on inventory with a bookkeeper who's legs are being chewed off by a Forgotten Beast.
