When my game spazzez out slightly every few minutes because one of my Catgirls somehow adopted herself, and now constantly catches vermin and attempts to bring them to herself.

Every time a little boxed message pops up in the top left corner, I get a little bit excited inside. I'm just getting brave enough to regularly bust down into the real depths with my fortresses, so every so often I see a completely new one. Even the FB arrival and completed artefact announcements are still thrilling :).

When a wild goat got into my fort it was spams aplenty, but when Urist McWorker got interrupted, he'd always path over the goat and the goat would lay there as Urist came back for another go.

I rationalized this as the fortress had taken up goat tackling as a sport.

I love it when someone is attacking a cat or a puppy or something, and instead of just shanking it, they decide the most efficient course of action is to throw themselves at it.

I'm sure by the time toady gets too old to program, DF will have reached a stage where as it is sentient enough to program itself.
It won't program itself, it'll be too busy taking breaks and attending parties to code.

There are so many... and I only just started a week ago. Still, for me I'd have to say it's the dwarf that for some insane reason likes "flesh balls for their warmth," I just hope they're so warm and friendly when I finally breach the cavern.

A close second would be that my liaison arrived and decided to stand on a piece of flooring my expedition leader was removing... Oh, and did I mention my fortress is built in and around a canyon featuring 10z level walls including a spectacular waterfall that said flooring was less than twenty feet from, man what a way to die, can't wait to show some goblins the same pleasure... (PS: AMAZING Start location in a rain forest with an abundance of flux andTHREE rivers converging in a 3 by 3 embark  :P)

57. You ask people for tasks and are disappointed when they don't tell you to kill a Winged Iron Giant Lobster that lives in a makeshift shrine.

Quote from Girlinhat:
"Dwarf up.  Don your leather armor and wooden axe, and go slaughter 10,000 zombie bull sharks.  Your beard has lost its luster in these years of plenty."

-When my entire squad gangs up on a single opponent, and I can't even see who their attacking anymore. I like to picture it as a giant pile-up of dwarves all struggling to climb to the bottom to attack the one crushed troglydyte or Giant Toad or whatever.

-Today I noticed my bookkeeper standing in her bedroom, doing nothing but holding her baby, cuddling it, I guess. A few moments later, her husband comes in and stands right next to her for a while. I smiled.

I love the 'swarm of bees' effect I get when I designate a large area to be cleared out or built in, even if it plays merry hell with my FPS.

Lielac likes adamantine, magnetite, marble, the color olive green, battle axes, cats for their aloofness, dragons for their terrible majesty, women for their beauty, and the Oxford comma for its disambiguating properties. When possible, she prefers to consume pear cider and nectarines. She absolutely detests kobolds.

It becomes downright horrifying when you order an animal slaughtered after a long famine. They descend like a school of piranha and devour the animal's corpse the moment it dies.

Yeah, there can! You just need a wooden skewer, an expendable dwarf and a large fire, and you just stick-- Oh wait, THAT's what you meant.
:D Disclaimer: Yoink has no idea what the aforementioned dwarves of Samuel's were actually doing. Yoink also does not condone beating children.     :-\

Nevermind, the game just answered my question. Troglydyte attack. The baby didn't survive. The mother is feeling but likely won't escape. Kinda depressing.

When several units are chasing one around Benny Hill style.  Doubly so when it's Urist McHauler out-pacing a group of goblins.

I should just keep the music on hand to play while I watch.
