The unimplemented but supposedly important gallows...

Higher defense doesn't help to get the Last Man Standing (LMS).
If there are several survivors in the final attack, the LMS will be randomly assigned to one of them. This means that every citizen will have exactly the same chance as others to win the LMS.
Although personal defenses have no impact on the final allocation of the LMS, they still have a role. Indeed, citizens who have more defenses are more likely to survive, and so to see the final attack.

To summurize : personnal defenses can help you to go through the weak attacks when there is some survivors, but will not help you to get the LMS the night of the final attack.

The usual tactic of bad guys is, as hero, upgrade their chest as much as they can. Then on day 4, they stole defense in the bank and open the gate at 11:59.

We've got a jerk Hero in our town. Pretty much sabotaged us as things started to get difficult. We've banned him, but he still has a house with defense 6 and is likely to be in the running for Hero.

Sad. But if I ever end up in a town with him again I'm going to try to get people to ban him as soon as possible.

Had that thought, but I put all my AP into some last minute town defenses to try to survive the night. Kind of wish I'd left one now.

Wow, we survived. Got lucky and had the zombies show up on the low end of the scale. Only 5 got in (one person got eaten).

Last night for me here. Guess I'll build a hovel and hang out.

Bah, 200 zombies attack, 100 defences. Unfortunately only 15 people died, and I had a mattress hoping that I would be one of the only left, or at least one of the last to die..
