If this was the real world, then would would work...to a degree.  Everything floats on lava (it has the density of rock, after all); it's just a matter of how long it takes for the stuff to burn.  You get a nice bottom of ash on the wood which won't burn, then the only things that will burn are the open sides.  If you get across quickly enough, a wooden bridge would work.  There's also the fact that slow-moving lava is covered with a thin shell of rock, so as long as you don't puncture it, it's just really hot.

If this is also the real world you'd die the near instant you are several feet within said lava.

Oh hell! I kept refreshing the page every now and then and being like "ARGH WHY HASN'T QUIP POSTED YET" and I just now realized that there's a second page. *facepalm*

Turn 1

Klack (Flintus10)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Urist (JacenHanLovesLegos)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Jfrible (NewsMuffin)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Twi'lek (Frelock)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Derefi (Humaan)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Brob (quip)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The General State Of Things.

You're on a hill. The huts are gone. The note is burnt. You have 1 sculpture, 1 flint and steel, and 1 way to get away from the lava. Derefi's Logic deduces (yes I will be using that word every time) that the hill (and your way out) will be submerged at the end of Turn 3.

Feel free to read other people's spoilers, that's just to save space.

Shoot, this looks like a short RTD
Um...
Try to work out how far across the lava is and hastily dig a trench with my hands around the edge of the hill to try and slow the lava sort of like
           ___k____
~~~~~|          |~~~~~~~~~
Try to do as below (see next post) but using the abstract artwork (which I shall atempt to steal) as a stepping stone/bridge (if I can get it)(
Yeah.... we're dead, but atleast we did some art.
And I ruined my our only likely chance of escape after one turn YAY!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to die this turn I just know it...
I also don't think I'm going to last long after the art burns but if I do I promise to try to dig a channel for the Lava to run through to avoid killing you and if you all die but I somehow survive to burn down a village in your honour.
There is an isthmus, you know...
Run across the isthmus, without tripping
As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.
Run across the isthmus with my mastercraft packing.
Wait... You're keeping it? Shoot now I have to run across like everyone else.
Also, it appears that if this plan is refused (I.E. You decide against trying to run on lava/you try to run over the lava and fall in and die) most of us have either wasted a turn/ got horrifically burned for nothing...
Ah well. Burned to death is how Brob would want to go...
Man I'm pessimistic.
Well, my packing was rather superb, so yes, I would like to keep it. Get running.
Still waiting on a couple people, so no turn yet. But 1) you do know that there's, like a strip of land? And 2) I'm not gonna kill anyone on turn 2 unless they do something that's obviously an awful, awful idea. Someone might lose a foot, but... :P
Also, Quip- could you clarify what your action is? I'm not really sure what you're trying to do... as near as I can tell, you want to try to float across the lava on an abstract sculpture.
While yes that would be awsome my plan was to try to run across the lava but given vairous factors that have now gone into play...
Try to set up a date with the lava, while using various objects to make temporary stepping stones as I cross it
What? I'm playing a pyromaniac whose just woken up to find he's surrounded by a firery ring o' death. Trying date it would be the next logical step.
