Damn. I just wasted money.  I bought a full month subscription and I only played the game for 10 minutes before I quit in disgust. This game's so terribad I felt physically sick.

Moral of this post: Buy the trial subscription first!

Mech's eh? mouse and keyboard and/or gamepad/joystick? I've got an old comp, is the client configurable? I'll probably need to reduce shading/shadows/ground and character textures to even have a chance at loading the game. My PC runs stalker on the static setting, is that sufficient to run Perpetuum without grinding frame-rates down to 12?

Is the GUI moddable and the community friendly?

It should run fine, it runs on this laptop which cant run Stalker. I doubt the gui is moddable, but the community is friendly.

Remember, this game is a lot like Eve when it was released. If you like Eve you might like this too, but it has a ways to go before it is polished. The devs are working fast but its just gonna take time. Pvp is pretty cool if thats your thing, in fact, thats the main reason to play it seems right now.

If anyone's interested, the game now has a 15 day trial and is getting some attention on steam greenlight (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=92921690&searchtext=perpetuum).

It also seems to have been updated a bit since the last post. I've only just started playing, but it seems less empty feature-wise than the above posts state. Its playerbase seems to be dwindling, though--only 60 or so people in general chat when I logged on.

Some things that were particularly interesting in the feature-list were terraforming and territory competition between factions (territories having bases that can be upgraded in accordance with how much influence the controlling clan has in that sector). I haven't been able to try any of this out yet, but maybe someone here will have more to say about the current state of the game?

Perpetuum? More like Perpetual grind. Respawning enemies at the beginning are a dead giveaway of what this piece of shit is, that being yet another crappy MMORPG.

Argh. When there is a sandbox space game like eve with good, responsive and somewhat aim-based combat and movement, with actual goings on within the ship and preferably first person, i will play it. The same goes for a mech game. Can you imagine Hawken's combat in a sandbox mmo? On the note of the former, what are the thoughts on 0x10c over here?

Sadly this one drops on the fail basket on my category.
Nothing new, like said above... mainstream MMORPG.

Damn you. Now I'm thinking of how cool it would be to have mechas being dropped from ships in 0x10c to duke it out on the planets. Fully customizable, programmable, engineer-able mechas, just like the ships. And the game is not even a game yet. The hype is killing me.
