Well I have a habit of running two or three forts. One of my forts was ten seconds from losing and a single tantruming dwarf in a walled in room with a dozen demons outside, so I just abandoned the sucker. Then I went to my other better fort to find that my military had been replaced by the squads from the abandoned fort. My squads still function as normal, but I cannot zoom to them. Normally I would just reassign everyone to they're squads, except when I do the dwarves to refuse to pick up they're masterpiece or artifact weapons. It's almost as if the squads are hidden somehow. Any way I can revert it back to normal, or at least, as close as normal, and still keep my weapons? Some sort of modding perhaps?

Fully exit and restart Dwarf Fortress whenever you switch between fortresses - there's known to be some memory initialization problems that result in this sort of behavior.

Given that I've already saved thinking it was just a momentary hiccup, quitting and restarting is no longer an option. Any easy fix?
