Do you like Linux? (As an actual, usable OS, not just in concept/principle.)

Of course, I love Linux! Why would I use anything else?
- 9 (10%)
Yeah, Linux's nice. Windows (or Mac OS) still has its uses though.

Linux... Meh... Tried it, what's the big deal?

Meh, Stallman's way of doing things is kind of silly.

Lies and slander!

I've actually been doing that for a few years now.
I just now learned of that page's existence, too.

Docx is half the size of a regular document, but still, a 25 kb doc is nothing nowadays.

You guys know of a good way to edit id3 tags? Currently using iTunes, but it's slow and requires me to move my mp3s over to windows. Lyrics and art support would be great too.

Damn Small Linux.

I read a while ago that development of that had stopped. Tried it once and was fugly.

Have you considered Slitaz or Puppylinux? Slitaz is prettier-looking, but in my experience the Puppy community is far friendlier and willing to answer noob questions
Which means that I am still waiting for an answer from Slitaz community on how to get Slitaz to recognize my netbook's drivers. Or my old computer to recognize it's old wifi card.

Any decent media player should be able to do it, try Rhythmbox or Banshee.  If you're running a kde system, there's also amarok.

Development stopped? Aww... Always thought it was a cool concept. But I have to agree it's not the nicest looking desktop.

Anyone manage to get Empathy with MSN going? Pidgin keeps failing, and Empathy looks a lot nicer too, but I can't seem to get it to connect (I keep getting "Disconnected -- no reason specified").

e, Chromium likes adding random BB code tags to my posts, sorry about that.

Never tried Empathy (it's the default for ubuntu right?), but the latest version of pidgin 2.7.7 works fine for me. 2.7.6 did too, but i hear there were a couple issues.

Empathy is an optional part of GNOME.  You could use bitlbee and irssi instead, if you really wanted to.

Bitlbee looks interesting, though, most of my conversations are in Hebrew, and terminals don't like Hebrew too much (It being written right to left and all.).
I'll ask around #gentoo, maybe I'm missing a crucial component of some kind.

e, Never mind, got it working with some silly hack.
