Come to think of it, "Wilderness: A Survival Adventure" was supposed to have additional expansions that they never ended up shipping.  I wouldn't have minded that either.
They are already in the game, i found a trick to make them run from what i remember i played Bolivia, Chille and Burma (and there are more).
Say please and i'll tell you.  ;)

Please!  I always wanted to barter with the natives to not get shot.  Also, for hot places instead of cold places.

One frustrating game I could see a remake/sequel of though is old dos game Maelstrom. It's not a terrible game as such (in fact quite enjoyable until you lose), but it is NINTENDO HARD and as you play you realise it's more limited in scope than first appearances would indicate.

Maelstrom RULED.  Goddamn Jerov Laddry though.  So much luck involved when he kidnaps people too.

You know what the funniest part is?  The designer flat-out admitted that while he tested individual parts, he never played the whole game all the way through.  So yes.  The difficulty is totally whack, and I don't know if it's even possible.  Awesome movies and interface for its time though, and the messages were a great touch (when engaging a much bigger fleet you can get a message from your captain saying "Tell my wife and kids I love them").  I do wish that it was easier to tell (for example) what defenses to put on your ships, ah well.

An old RTS game called Tzar: The Burden of the Crown. Very good game, but lacking in originality (it did include a lot of features of other games like Age of Empires but not much else) and plagued with other minor gameplay issues, mainly pathfinding.

Tzar was a brilliant game, I don't know what you mean. I fondly remember making epic level artifacts for sport and having singular units be total badasses.
Come to think of it, I believe it was the first real RTS with units gaining xp.

Maelstrom. Damn, I was playing that the other week and meant to finish it sometime. The manual(at least, the one I got from Abandonia) has a spoiler guide to it. Plus, doing a background check on your SIN manager is freaking hilarious(if only for a moment), and I found an interesting, probably embarassing though not really bad thing about Elysia Sybarite. Mmm, Elysia Sybarite ♥♥♥...

Ok, you have to delete the SIERRAS.CIM and rename the BOLIVIA.CIM or BURMA.CIM or NEWGUIN.CIM or BRCOLUM.CIM to SIERRAS.CIM. After choosing to make a new topomap, it will still give you only the option to chose sierra nevada but it will actually make the country you renamed as SIERRAS.CIM. (When making a topomap there should be the real name in the lower left corner.) Enjoy.

MASTER OF MAGIC.  The bugs, exploits and AI made it fun to toy with but ultimately unplayable.

Yeah, Skave is in the original manual too.  And SIN dossiers are hi-larious.

Kulik:  I have no idea why I didn't think of that before.  Kudos!

Man, we're awesome in here.

Bloodnet. Fantastic concept that almost sounds too ridiculously awesome-- you are a vampire cyberpunk hacker in a dystopic future and you need to recruit others and use the cyberspace areas and investigate the extremely well-detailed and written environment to get revenge on the vampire who bit you and take down the entire cult, and preferably saving your ass from becoming one yourself. Oh, and it's basically part adventure game and part RPG.

Amazing writing, crazy awesome idea, horrendous combat system and ridiculously convoluted or just out-there puzzles. sigh.

Ooh, I remember bloodnet. Awesome character creation. Never survived more than 10-15 minutes in the actual game though.

The only walkthrough I ever found for that was so damn hard to read. I did everything it said, until I got to a part that doesn't seem to actually happen, so I'm stuck.

Still, it's a damn awesome concept. It'd be even better if it played like Deus Ex.

Oh, and this isn't really a bad game, but I'd have to say Darklands.
Darklands was indeed short on the 'bad' aspect and long on 'deserves a sequel'. To this day I wonder why noone ever remade it, it's can't be technologically complicated...

Not to mention there's a guide available that goes pretty in depth with the mechanics. Reverse engineering it should just require a little work.

Darklands was actually a lot less deep than it looked, IMO.  There were only so many events (even if there was like half a meg of text), and your options were pretty heavily limited.  There was a lot of grinding (How many bandits does this town have and why do they still try to mug people), and for many things you could do, it seemed like there wasn't much point.  And really...a lot of the puzzles became trivial once you saw them once or twice.  (Oh hey, this village worships St. Simon Magus, how suspicious).  Plus--

...You know what?  I had a couple paragraphs here about what it was missing and where it had room for improvement.  But talk about actually remaking stuff doesn't belong in this thread.  *scratches head*

I'd say that makes Darklands a perfect 'Worst game that needs a sequel'. And I agree that it does need one. The original had some annoying bugs, and was rather limited by the time period that it was created. A full sequel now would be awesome.

And I've been trying to remember the name of Maelstrom forever!
