Do creatures drain ponds when getting wet?
« on: October 21, 2010, 11:34:49 am »

Topic says all.

I was wondering if water could be used as an infrarred movement detector versus trapavoid creatures by sensing the drop of the water level.

I know my open air dwarf washer needs autorefilling from time to time, but I don't know if it is because they like spicy drinks.

He stole an onion. Off with his head.
I wonder, what would they do if someone killed their king.
Inevitable, who cares. Now an onion...

I don't believe they do, but that would be kind of neat.

This kind of thing doesn't happen at the moment, but you could use doors instead.  TRAPAVOID and stealthed creatures will make the door opening animation.  With a long enough hallway of doors, you could see where that pesky kobold is.

You could combine it with doors, so that when they open a door, it drains a room partially. That would be detectable by pressure plates.

That would likely work, but watchdogs work much better on kobolds, imo.

Engraved on the monitor is an exceptionally designed image of FPS in Dwarf Fortress and it's multicore support by Toady. Toady is raising the multicore. The artwork relates to the masterful multicore support by Toady for the Dwarf Fortress in midwinter of 2010. Toady is surrounded by dwarves. The dwarves are rejoicing.
