The proper form of my name IS lowercase.
Lowercase words are uppercased then you start a sentence, or list them such as in the opening post ;)
I believe proper form > listing. The proper noun form of my name is "breadbocks".

And mine is ein.
I'm going to have to agree with the others about opening caps.

I always uppercase a sentence. It's too firmly ingrained in my grammatics routines.

As for my part, I'm going to be delayed for a bit, but I'll submit it as soon as possible.

You typing on a japanese keyboard or something?

How large would a kanji keyboard be, anyway? I can understand a hiragana/katakana one, those are at least possible to fit with modifier keys.

Oh wait.

図ります他?(I believe that's japanese for "what happened", but I'm not sure)

Google to the rescue! I didn't know I could autoconvert romanizations into kanji. Neat.

edit: I now realized why Rosetta Stone "writing" lessons are only about romaji. Those always stood out as odd to me, I never figured a Japanese would be writing stuff like that. They should've called the lessons "typing".

It's a regular qwerty keyboard with a latin (romaji) to hiragana to kanji/kana transliteration device.
If I lead a sentence with a capital or capslock, it types without converting.

"Transliteration device"? I used the standard Microsoft IME that came with Windows. Btw, you seem to have Japanese knowledge, or at least are acquainted with the language better than I am. Does the phrase I typed really mean what I assumed? I'm kinda trying to acquire a vocabulary by watching fansubbed anime. :)

The extents of my language knowledge are limited to simple constructions like かれ輪赤井はなおもっています. (hm, doesn't look like I remember it. Oh well)

Not really, 図る is something about plots or deceiving, while 他 is an adjective that isn't connected to anything.
I'd translate 'What happened?' as 何だ? or 何をした?
Those are 'Nanda?' and 'Nani o shta?'
I have no clue what that second phrase is supposed to say.

He still holds a red wheel?
I have no clue.

Heh. Well, the second was supposed to be "he holds a red flower", that's something from the Rosetta Stone thingy, which I guess got mangled either by my memory or the hiragana/kanji conversion. The first one is, as well as I could interpret it, "wakarimashta" - at least, the closest approximation the converter accepted.

prepost edit: Ah wait, now I see why it didn't accept. It's "shi", not "sh".

わかった if you're speaking to a friend or something.
わかる is 'to understand.'
And I see why your phrasing on the second is wrong.
The 'o' particle is the を (wo) kana.
赤井 is a name, while 赤い is red.
Flower is usually written in kanji. 花
輪 can mean wheel, ring, or flower, so it get's kinda redundant.
持つ(持っている)is also kanji.
かれは赤い花を持っている。

Which, I guess, is why Japanese is so frustrating to learn. :P

Anyway. My comic's in progress. And it's more a full page than a single strip. The next in line after me is Sheb... I can only hope Japa is a good artist, or a patient one - this could end up being a whole novel.

Alright, done and sent to Sheb. I can only wonder what happens next, but I have a hunch that the comic will take a turn for the crazy after breadblocks' turn.
