I'm with hector13 on this one. I question the extent of the choice they made to be a constant public spectacle. Their seeming attempts to play into it could just be regulations on royal family decorum.

I'm far from a monarchist but I have a limited amount of hate to allocate and I'd rather spend it on those rich people who are actively destroying the planet rather than those rich people who just kinda sit around and get into scandals.

To be fair, a century ago, the scandal sheets were full of discussion about many and varied members of the multiple tiers and connections with British Aristocracy, along with the Nobility of several other countries.

Now, we only have to occasionally hear about one British dysfunctional family. The US actually has far more scandalous rich folks in charge. So hey, if anyone gains some satisfaction from studying the Life and Times of British Monarchy, have fun.

In a Belgian prison, an inmate was tortured for days by his cellmates, without anyone noticing.
He was beaten, kicked, anal raped with a broomstick, forced to eat sandwiches with feces and is now in hospital being treated for severe burns from having boiling water poured over him.

The Antwerp prison blames the incident on understaffing and bad working conditions.
During the daily prisoner counts, his cellmates forced him to lie under his blanket and raise his hand to show he's still present during prisoner count, so no one would notice the wounds.

His cellmates have been arrested in prison and will face inhumane torture charges.

After 4 years' block , my university reopened to the public totally freely , but the chaos and the noise they brought in would make Discord , the lord of chaos in Equestria ,feel amazed .

Lunchtime when I get to the school canteen , it was filled with bounds of outsiders , the old spitted in the chopstick recycling basket , children and babies chasing and playing around , and there is no places to sit .

In the afternoon , one important brozen statue called 八马同槽， representing 8 important professals in my university 's history , got seriously destruction by the visitors .(seem like some creatures in dwarf fortress with the label of  "building destructor" came into reality ) Ironically , when the policemen came , what they do was not punish the destructive boy , but tried to compromise .Now the safest places is the headmaster 's study

There are some other "WTF" acts by the visitors , including but not limited to --

1. destroy the rock thrones roadside (nowadays "Hercules")
2. use the online map to find girls' dormitory and washingroom , trying to do something evil
3. urine and defecate anywhere
4. indulge children to scream
5. spitting and smoking anywhere
6. stealing the girls' personal pants and bras
7. turning the crowded playground into a picnic place
8. pick flowers and have FUN with the stray cats with the WEOPONS in article 10
9. ask students to buy meals for them (totally moral kidnapping )
10.chewed gum flying far away , as far as a bird and finally fell down on the road
11.riding bicycles outdoors and , indoors
12.climbing trees which are under protection
13.rubbishing everywhere

That sounds chaotic as hell.  Public universities in the USA are 'open' to the public but in practice they remove people who arent actually attending when when find any reason to.

Why are all these random people flocking to the schoolyard now?  Dont these people have jobs?

Id wager you could find this kind of behavior anywhere, its low brow ruffian stuff, but funny a lot of it is what I associate chinese tourists with.  Especially in places like the casino.

The random people are all citizens nearby , it's weekends , curiosity moves them from parks , lakes and gyms into our school . They just wanna the cheap meals. (our country has welfares on us , we school guys can enjoy the food cheaper than the restaurants outside, about 20% to 50% off )

They bought 1000% more food than they need , then sold the 900%, earning a lot .

Tomorrow is Sunday, I couldn't imagine how chaotic it would be .

That sounds bad. I would hope the school administration would do something, since it is interfering with students' studying.

Are they supposed to be selling subsidized food to people who are not students, or is it not entirely legal?

Back at my University in the United States, you need an ID in order to get the discount price.

I used to sneak in to my gf’s university for breakfast because apparently they just assumed if you look young and are with other young people you belong there.

I still do that sometimes with (younger) friends at German universities.

I think they were not supposed to give discounted meals to strangers. That would explain point 9 of Zhi's original post.

At the uni I went to, to get the discount, one had to use their uni ID card.
