Scapegoat implies innocence, punchingbag implies helplessness and pariah implies minority/lack of power.

Someone like Musk doesn't really have a good descriptor.
How about "rightfully despised parasite"?

Is there any modern lit term for opposite of 'personality cult', when people love to hate someone
Yes, they're called Rebels, because they hate the Establishment.
They're usually found as a result of Personality Cults to describe those NOT in the Cult.
The term Heretic is also applicable. You can spell it Heretik if you like.

I guess my WTF today is the fact that drama from the twitter thread has made it's way into this thread.

Sainsbury's job application is suspiciously simple.

I assume this is because it's literally an entry role that could be done by someone who only has a brain stem, but it consists of:

"What's your contact info?" "This is the information on what the job is. Do you understand it?" "Here's what might disqualify you. Do any of them apply?" "What's your ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and gender identity? You don't have to share, just thought we'd ask."

"Alright, job's a good'un. When do you want your interview?"

Ah yes, entry level jobs that require five years of experience to get.

My favourite was a job working with a programming language asking for five years of experience with it.

The guy applying built the language.

He had three years of experience with it because that's how long it had existed.

I'm guessing they didn't hire him...
