A golapek (pigs in a blanket) is a sandwich.
An ice cream cone is also a(n open-faced) sandwich.

I've never had a hotdog bun that's stayed as a single unit. They always tear all the way through sooner or later. To that end, I'd classify a regular hotdog as a hotdog-sandwich-waiting-to-happen.

EDIT: Pigs-in-Blankets are a bacon-wrapped sausage. Bacon, not bread. QED they're not a sandwich unless wedged between two slices of bread.

And ice cream cone isn't bread, QED not a sandwich.

None of you motherfuckers are catching me out on my sandwich rant.

Again this is stupid because any given hoagie may-or-may-not be a sandwich despite being a distinct food which should fall on one side or the other.

I thought we were on the same wavelength but you’re clearly bananas.

Partly for the PB, partly for calling it a biscuit, and partly for eating it.

Eat some grits and drink some iced tea and then come crawling back to me.

If the hoagie contains something between two separate pieces of bread it's a sandwich. If the bread hasn't been separated it's a near-sandwich.

Right, and that's dumb. Because they're functionally identical and made from the same stuff and are precisely the same thing but for a tiny sliver of bread?

What about Open-Faced Sandwiches?

Open faced sarnie isn't between two slices, it's something on bread. Bung two of them together it's a sandwich.

In a flatbread it's not a sandwich unless you accidentally tear the bread in two. It's stuffing inside a bread pocket.
What about an open-faced sarnie, or something wrapped in a flatbread?

You’re too late itms been covered.

Or not, as that would make it a sandwich.

There's only one God, and that's the egg-and-cress sarnie.

Predominantly because it's rare to find any other vegetarian sandwiches when you go somewhere.

But does it become a sandwich when you add a second waffle?

We have established this Zultan, not bread, no sandwich.

Incidentally, ice cream sandwiches are a sandwich-adjacent foodstuff, not a sandwich. Unless you use actual bread.

Now hold up, there. Waffles (and pancakes, for that matter) count for bread in sandwich making, no question.

Instead of bread, I'd say go with something like contiguous grain based material. That largely precludes things like sticking something between two dry ramen blocks (don't judge me, it didn't taste good anyway), while leaving waffles and pancakes, rightly, as possible structural sandwich components. It also okays most ice cream sandwich constructions.

Eat some grits and drink some iced tea and then come crawling back to me.
Though talkin' 'bout grits and ice tea at the same time you're dissing on PB&J is a wild thing to see. You'd be looked at real suspicious like if you're somewhere either of those is common but talkin' bad about that particular sandwich.
