The past two weeks, emergency vehicle sirens have been a daily occurrence. I live out in the countryside, usually you'd hear them a few times a year.

I have no idea what's going on. As far as I'm aware there's no massive raging fire nearby, I can't imagine there's a murder going on every day or the local area would be depopulated in short order, and either someone's hilariously injury prone or everyone's having heart attacks.

The payroll department at my new job is taking out city taxes... for a city in which I don't live, nor does my company have an office in the city for which they're collecting tax.  Hopefully they will get it fixed soon... I even remember when I set stuff up in the initial week, I specifically left that "city withholding" box empty...
