He’s well into his 40s now so it might be a bit late.

You know what should be considered a crime though? People who shave their heads when they don't need to. A hate crime against baldeds.

Don't go gently into that bald ear. Rage, rage, rage against the thinning of the hair

Early balding is a sign of high testosterone, they say.  Might be worth looking into topical androgen blockers or something - I don't know the details, just that it's a common non-trans hormone therapy.

Interesting.

My barber keeps bugging me that I'm getting Geheimratsecken, I wouldn't even have noticed without her. Taking a look at my family I don't expect to go bald, but if what rolan says is right on the money, that theoretically means I could still fuck it up for myself if somehow my testosterone were abnormally high, I guess?

Just glancing at this webmd article, topical anti-androgens "aren't approved by the FDA" but oral forms are commonly prescribed.  Oral obviously means it lowers overall T instead of the more localized effect that topical hormones and blockers seem to have.

I'm slightly skeptical about the localized effect of topical hormone therapy, but it appears to work that way for some people.  I've heard very mixed results about people blocking their overall hormones without any replacement, but I guess doctors prescribe that for balding men.  Maybe it halts male pattern baldness but doesn't have other effects some people want.

I'm very obviously not a doctor, ha!  I'm just a little surprised that the professionally approved treatment (for cis men) seems to be blocking overall T, with all the very sensitive side effects that has.  Yeah, that.

(Technically I declined blockers with my HRT, but my "monotherapy" resulted in my system naturally "switching gears" over that first month.  It's just a bit more delayed than most trans people are looking for, but I'm happy with the gradual improvement.  I don't think most cis people would be.)

Being bald grants you access to sport a great bear

My hair be a going.  I started noticing in the beginning of the Pandemic, so I've come to grips with it (aka mostly don't care).

Heh, high testosterone.  Funny, other than balding at age 37, there is ZERO evidence to support that conclusion.  I'm hardly the Male Elite Form.

Were you trying to perform the Scottish play?  (or whatever that would be in Ivalice FF14's world)

Sorry circumstances conspired against you like that :'(

I thought the common wisdom was to just look around for limestone if you want steel, since it's a flux itself and frequently contains magnetite clusters. Or was that just relevant for older versions? It's been a while since I played

I'm reasonably sure that still holds up.
And frankly, I feel iron/flux are much more common now that in the past.  Copper/Tin is the real mystery metal combo.
