Obviously!  Such an intense redistribution of wealth would have effectively dissolved our class-based society, a system Bloomberg's power relies on.  Even if he had wanted to do this, he would have faced mortal peril from his fellow 1%

edit:  The joke, because it is easy to overlook, is that MekitaRivas forgot to divide the millions of dollars by millions of people - each person would get like $1, not $1 million.  And I chose to play off the tweet as if it was accurate, as a bit.

It's particularly funny to me because it's a good point made in an awfully bad way.  Subverted expectations!
Those $500 million could have been spent much more productively, but instead they fed the marketing "industry".  Which produces literally nothing but tries to change minds.

$500 million (one guy's personal advertising budget) isn't that big if he donates it to literally everyone in the US, but 500 million could have saved a whole lot of the most vulnerable people in our society.

To be fair, maybe Bloomberg would have done more good by losing to Trump than those 500 million would have done for people /s

'Cause I'm noticing whoever's buying ad slots for grit is apparently making some very clear calls on the channel's demographics and interests.
