It's, uh, Hair Food brand curl-defining smoothie. It's a cream that goes in your hair to make curly hair do curly things better, since curly hair is temperamental. The fruit extracts are part of the product and are supposed to help nourish it or add scents or reduce frizz or whatever other food science makes hair go. It's marketing nonsense, most likely, but the harsher reality is that my fingers still feel like they're a little bit on fire because I have many food allergies and neither read the ingredients label to be concerned about the extracts nor believed that I'd have any kind of skin contact reaction to the stuff.

I took a second shower to rinse the stuff out, but it doesn't rinse out super well, which is probably why my fingers are still reacting.

For stuff that does not solve in water and solves badly in soap (such as tar), I sometimes use expired skin cream. It does get it off, though I suspect it would work better if it was fresh.
Anyway, other fats might work as well, you will just have to wash them off with soap afterwards.

A post popped up in my feed today with one of those dumbass basic arithmetic challenges that make the rounds sometimes. Today's challenge was "50+50-25*0+2+2=?"

It only came to my attention because an acquaintance had commented on it. Specifically, she'd replied to a comment a friend of hers had made.

The comment: "104"

The response: "25*0 is 0"


...both of those are correct. 104 can only be the answer if 25*0=0. Is this some bizarre in-joke? Some encouraging support? Or has this person managed to be wrong twice and ended up with being right? I do not know.

It's just an order of operations problem.

It becomes quite clear once you add parentheses to isolate order of operations.

Multiplication is done first. Then additions and subtractions.

(50+50)-(25*0)+(2+2)=?

Becomes

(100)-(0)+(4)=104

Rather than see it as "No, you are wrong!", see it instead as "For whoever is reading this comment, and cant get 104, you have to see that 25*0=0."  It then makes perfect sense.
