I made 400 on stocks today.  on my normal stocks.
Thats 2000 a week
Thats 8000 a month
Thats just shy of 6 figs.

Now Im not saying I will normally scoop up that much, but last month I was happy to see 200 for the first time.  I'm still quite new to this.

Eh, is that through dividend payouts or just through rising share price? The former makes more sense to me, but you don't usually get a payout every single day. The latter is usually what people play the stock market for. I'm a bit surprised at your excited reaction if that's the case though. Just because the price rose once doesn't mean it's going to keep rising at the same rate for the rest of the year. You can't take a lucky break and generalize it like that. As the numbers you use point out, that would lead to absurd amounts of easy cash being made.

peleton is my bread and butter though.  And a bit of stuff like morgan stanley.  Doordash when it sinks, and mtch every now and then.  Upstart too.


P:  $400 represents a threshold for me.  I can live off of $150 a weekday, barely.  $200 a day was my goal for the end of August.  $400 a day would be so awesome.

Be careful about your tax liability, and letting the day-trading go to your head.  You can lose money too.  But glad to hear things are working out.

Depends on the where, probably? Monetary control folks in the US have been consistently undershooting healthy inflation numbers for a while now, iirc, so while the situation with inflation is kinda' bad, it's not bad in a way that would be making the numbers go up a lot. Least if I'm not misremembering things.

Watch out for short-term capital gains tax, at least if you're in the US.  Short term capital gains are taxed as ordinary income.

How can someone need that much money?
400$ a day, that classifies as super duper rich.
For lots of people, $12000 is a yearly income, not a monthly income.
And I'm not talking 3d world countries.
12000 a year is what people on welfare or disability pay get over here in the Netherlands.

Rent is 1500 a month
I have 500 car payment
300 insurance
75 phone plan
I buy recurring products for 150
200 for a loan I took out for market tinkering.
Food is probably between 100 and 150 a week, and if not than other expenses fall here.

Thats a lot.

I'm going to state the obvious: money has different worth in different places. What might seem a ludicrous wage in one place might actually translate into a decent living somewhere else. Plus that's actually gross per day. If I'm doing my math correctly he'd be making 8000 gross a month on 400 gross per day... and even discounting overhead, I dont think that's super duper rich anywhere in the western world.

I also have to said it: no offense but taking a loan for stock trading sounds like an unwise idea.

I'd tend to agree but 200 is a relatively very small amount.
