I can run large worlds, but I prefer smaller and pocket islands. It takes some effort to get a world where all civs are alive and there are active necromancers, but like Naxza said, the consequences of actions in a small world feel more significant.

DF at larger worlds is pretty much Single-Core Benchmark 2021, yes. I still like the idea of having a large world with multiple unconnected continents and islands and stuff, but the 3 letters of F, P, and S, are what make the experience worse, so I normally aim for Medium myself. It's harder to get the multiple continents working in smaller worlds, so I don't like having anything smaller than that. Maybe I should, though.

Im sure one can tweak the worldgen enough to make at least a couple of continents and some islands on a small world.

It's right up there with the idea of a "sigma male". That one just reeks of insecurity.

From what I understand though, dwarf fortress doesn't have a system of naval travel yet (besides swimming in adventure mode). Even small islands are completely cut off from the rest of society, though the game will always teleport you a monthly caravan from your home civ regardless.

For some reason, this streaming service that my parents got, there's two versions of The Spongebob Squarepants Movie on it. Same art, same description, same credits, but one of them is free and PG-13, and the other one is rental-only and R-rated. Also, the R-rated one is shorter by 1 minute. Is there a secret uncensored, uncut version I've never heard of?

After some issues with a power adapter, I finally got my Vive Pro hardware set up. The base stations make this awful whining sound. Why would anyone in quality control not think that would be a bad thing? And short of turning off the power adapter, which I can't because my alarm clock is on the same strip, there's no easy way to turn them off.

PRE-EDIT: And now the setup is giving me the exact same problem that my Rift S did, giving errors about the USB and DisplayPorts. Gonna go see if a manual Windows Update is going to fix this, since the Rift S stopped working after a forced update.

EDIT: Or not. Turns out the power cable for the headset was loose. Went ahead with a manual update/restart anyway. Might check if that fixed the issue with my Rift S. If so, I'll sell it for about $50; if it still works, all it needs a new face gasket and a good(good) cleaning.

Islamic majority yes, but the censorship and general enforcement isn't too draconian. I happen to know the internet side of things. I think they only do DNS blocking, if any, so it's really easy to circumvent any blocks that are in place; just change your DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 to access "certain" websites (just do it anyway, the default DNS servers ain't too good here). I've been able to watch (and post) LGBT stuff with zero issues. Atheist and freethinker-type websites? Completely unblocked. The only time I got blocked (apart from the usual suspects) was when I wanted to read Linux From Scratch on uni internet, which has to be the oddest block I've seen. It's really only porn websites the censors seem to care about.

Which part would've The Powers That Be edited out? I'm struggling to think which parts would be objectionable. I dunno, the naked Patrick? I saw that guy naked when he parachuted into the Krusty Krab 2 ceremony, so it's not that. "I'm a Goofy Goober"? Nope, I heard that well and clear. Thug Tug? I don't think so. The Spongebob Wiki, detailed as it is, doesn't list any alternate versions. I've downloaded a copy off a "certain" kind of website (ooh, and it's a Blu-Ray rip in 1080p!), so I suppose I could go compare later if I felt like wasting many hours of my life.

It’s pretty bad on the Beeb website too.

I assume it’s autocorrected and either it doesn’t get proofread prior to publication, or whoever proofreads it sucks, or is otherwise autocorrected.
