Y'know, Bad Apple is incredibly hard to ruin with ultra-low-bitrate encoding. Even at 17 kbps average (which was as low as I could go in x264), it's still recognizable. The whole video's just moving compression artifacts at this point, and things just forget to exist for a bit from sheer lack of bitrate, but it's still Bad Apple for the most part. The video's just that compressible.

You mean a QR code that is itself a fractal, or one which contains a program that generates fractals? I'd say it's at least theoretically possible in... 2953 bytes (I had to check the video). Fractals are fairly dense code anyway; I watched a demo that encoded video in some black magic combination of DCT and fractal-whatever to end up with a data rate of 50 bytes a second. I will not link it; it's literally grainy softcore porn.

The author of that demo seems incredibly horny. I gotta talk about it. Motherfucker just puts sexy women in every goddamn demo they make. Scrolling pin-up pictures up and down is their favorite effect while demonstrating that their new technology consumes 10% of CPU or something. I like women too, but when it's literally in every production they make, it just gets tiring. They really need different effects or source material, methinks.
