Food would cool inefficiently in outer space, since there's nothing to conduct heat away; the surface would radiate, but this is much less effective, and would probably tend to just freeze over the surface like the reverse of a microwave burrito.
Storing ice underground works, but requires a lot of embodied energy to dig the pit and move the ice into the pit. I recommend we let nature do more of the work and deposit all the Earth's food supply in Antarctica.

Ok so to summarize, what we've learned is that can solve global warming and also store our beeves-based-foodstuffs indefinitely if we simply launch Antarctica into orbit.
