An unfortunate labelling mix-up at an Australian gin distillery has left one customer sick after she mistakenly drank hand sanitiser.

Apollo Bay Distillery has issued a recall after nine bottles of hand sanitiser - incorrectly labelled as gin - were sold at the Great Ocean Road Brewhouse in Victoria.

It’s understood the 700ml bottles of sanitiser – which contained glycerol and hydrogen peroxide – were labelled as SS Casino Dry Gin.

Drinking hand sanitizer ... who do they think we are ... Trump supporters?

Lol, that ain't the outback no matter what tourist-trap name they give it. Calling The Great Ocean Road the "outback" is like saying you went deep into America's rugged wilderness - the Hamptons.

To give you an idea, I studied at a college in the center of Melbourne with people who commuted from Geelong every day, which the Great Ocean Road passes close to. So this is close enough that people commute from there on a daily basis into a city of 4.5 million people to work in the offices. Given the scale of Australia, this is just about an not-outbacky as you can get without living in a high rise apartment. (*outback literally means out the back, it's the inland areas, the desert. Anything with "ocean" in the name is excluded by definition).

 You can kind of tell because there's a place called the "Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery" that came up in google when I just searched for the road ... not many gourmet ice cream places in the outback. There is sort of a thing though where some expensive touristy places will use outback-y names for things despite being the exact opposite of anything to do with the outback.

There was a time when I got what I thought was a blueberry bagel, and thought the “blueberries” were rotten, it tasted very bad. Turns out they were raisins. I still don’t like raisins, the point here is, sometimes if you think you’re eating something that you’re not, you will taste what you think you’re eating, in my case, very bad blueberries. I did not finish the bagel
