The tape player on my (borrowed) stereo seems to be malfunctioning most unpleasantly! I thought it was just one particular tape, but after two in a row unspooled themselves and needed an urgent pen-assisted rescue I'm not about to risk any more until I can clean the player or whatever.

Fortunately, though, this stereo also plays this old-school format called "compact disc"! As it happens I actually do have a few of these compact discs (CDs), still kicking about from my distant youth. I guess now it's back to thrash whether I like it or not.
