Hey, I like cuboid buildings. I'd like Brutalism if they didn't keep making everything so needlessly elaborate with all the greebles and triangles and windows and things. What's wrong with making things simple?

I'm on the fence here.  Brutalism can be good, when well implemented.  However, pulling it off appears to be more difficult than expected-- Most buildings in the brutalist style look like something straight of of soviet era Russia (or possibly Kowloon walled city?), are crowded together, and are just plain unattractive.

I will agree with you that *this* is not really brutalism.

Nothing is inherently bad. That being said, modernism comes close...
In seriousness, though, modernism does not scream grandeur and class to the extent which the gothic does/did. We have adopted a new aesthetic of thought over beauty, logical appreciation over instinctual regard.

I'm vaguely offended by that, but I can't say that you're wrong. Beyond applied math lies pure madness. Want to allow 2+2=5? There's a place where that result makes perfect sense. Want to add together an infinite number of fractions, and somehow end up with (pi^2)/6, of all numbers? Sure! I can't stop you!

The thing is, there's a time and place for everything, and if you misplace them, you end up with nonsense like the sum of all counting numbers being a negative fraction.

Interesting. There's a lot of context missing in that video though. Crows don't usually just casually perch on people's shoulders, so it's probably the dude's pet. Once we accept that idea, then it becomes increasingly likely that he may have trained the bird to do that trick.
